[Mob] [SGS] Replacing Digitizer / Lens/Front Glass on I9000 Posted: 05 Sep 2011 03:09 PM PDT Have just got a faulty I9000 th a cracked front glass. The amoled display is okay (ie no bleed out and perfectly clear) and the touchscreen seems OK. I have ordered wh is called an I9000 lens glass off fleabay about £12. My query is does anybody have any experience of changing the front glass? Can any tips be given? I am reasonably competent doing sort of thing having replaced screens in Nokias, Blackberries and Ipods bee and have all the torch screwdrivers and opening shims etc. Thanks in advance any help.

[Tech] Intel temp questions Posted: 05 Sep 2011 03:09 PM PDT Hey fellow TPU'ers I've done a major upgrade to my PC last week, as a loyal AMD user I finally decided wh the Intel side is like and purced myself a nice i7 2600k, ASUS Maximus IV ExtremeZ, 16GB of Corsair RAM and a Corsair H60 to cool it all. I'm used to AMD running cold, since my other (see old rig) rig with my AMD 1090T never ever temps over 45C. Intel seems to be different, My system now idles between 3540c and during a Prime95 test it reaches 6062C max load with a Corsair H60. I was wondering if these are normal temps? (PS: it seems my i7 2600K never runs its stock clock. Its either its SpeedStepped 1.6ghz or its Turbo Mode 3.8ghz :P.)

[Tech] Sabertooth X58 Raid problem Posted: 05 Sep 2011 03:09 PM PDT I recently setup my sabertooth x58 in a new case and I put a ssd in it OS, which worked fine. However, I put two of my 1TB drives in and installed in the sa3 ports, followed the raid setup in BIOS and did a RAID0 setup. Everything worked perfectly fine. The RAID0 setup is fast, and works gre, but every once in a while it freezes up and windows can't see the raid. is only about once every couple days, or if I'm transferring huge amounts of da 500GB+ a time. I've read there are problems with the Marvell controller. I am using high end raid cards in my main workstion so I haven't tested it in th computer. The sabertooth definitely seems to be affected by it. Any fixes the marvell controller? It is super annoying to be transferring a couple hundred gigs of stuff and have to completely start over because the raid driver crashes or something.

My computer still does fine, however, I think it will help with games like Rage. Will I need to upde my Bios the processor? It's a MSI 790FX GD70? I don't think I will as it's an AM3 socket. So we would like the warehouse workers to be able to see the upded schedule as it changes as well as be able to note the arrival and departure times of the drivers from the delivery docks. It doesn't need a lot of bells and whistles but it just needs to be current and easily updable by different parties the same time. I'm pretty sure a combinion of Google Calendars and Exchange or something like th will work, right? If you do , can you explain to Kevin how to get it done? My Sprint contract will be up Sep 30th, but I plan to preorder Sep 29/30th or whenever the de ends up being (of cse, if preorders are not until October I'm in the clear). I know my problem boils down to only a day or two, but I want to make sure I don't get hit with a $50 ETF charge. Basically, will sprint find out about canceling with them when I give my number to T in the preorder process, or does Sprint not find out until I active the iPhone in October (assuming the lest rumors prove true)? When I plug the phone into iTunes, I get a message saying to insert a valid SIM card with no PIN lock...it appears I'm unable to continue setup until I have . Is there a way I can setup my iPhone without having the SIM card without voiding the warranty? Here's the situion: I had 2x1Gb Team Xtreem Dark DDR2 1066MHz modules and I bought another pair of the same to upgrade. The thing is th once I install the second pair, the pc either won't boot or it won't complete the memory benchmark in Sandra (might also give random BSODs). I run 3 passes of standard memtest86 on my old pair alone and it passed with no errors all. I did the same to the new pair alone and it also passed with no errors. But when I installed them together memtest showed 10 errors on the first pass! My rig: Intel Core 2 Quad Q9300 @ 3.3GHz (overclocking can't be the problem cause I tried everything both with defaults and custom settings) Team Xtreem Dark DDR2 1066 55515 ASUS P5Q Pro all tests run with lest memtest86 and Sandra Lite versions. The new wave includes several new sub$100 parts covering key pricepoints, and carrying the Pentium and Celeron brands. Leading the pack is a new quadcore chip th is sure to strike a pricepermance sweetspot: the Core i52320. chip displaces the Core i52300 from its pricepoint of US $177, and is faster. While the i52300 is nominally clocked 2.80 GHz, the i52320 runs 3.00 GHz. Another significant introduction here is the Core i32130, which displaces the i32120 from its pricepoint of $139. The new dualcore chip is clocked 3.40 GHz, 100 MHz faster than the chip it's displacing. Then there's another kind of change, the Core i32125. chip is identically clocked with the i32120 3.30 GHz, but it might be tweaked in other parameters (such as GPU clock speed, feureset, etc). Core i32120T is a new lowpower desktop chip, th's clocked 2.60 GHz, and nearly half the red TDP, 35W. I added a 120mm rad up front and installed a slightly migger tube my cylinder res. I filled the entire loop with distilled wer like always, and added some biocide. I originally had one aircooled video card in the system and have since added a second, then a third. I also have changed my monitors, and now I'm running three panels off the main card in Eyefinity. I mention all about the video cards because the extra load of three screens on the main card makes it idle a much higher temp. Today I just happened to glance over my case and noticed th the res is filled with brown wer. I can only see into the fluid about a quarterinch. Is a result of the biocide I have in the wer? Is it a chemimcal reaction th comes from my aircooled video cards being right next to the res, heing up the fluid or something? And since it would be a while bee I can change it out, how safe is it to run like ?

I decided to purce myself an optical cable thinking I'll get better sound quality but I'm running into all sort of weird issues while using it. 1. sound to come out I have to set the "SPDIF Interface" as my default Playback device in Windows 7 otherwise I don't hear anything. I see a "Digital Output" shouldn't it be set to ? 2. When I tempt to do a surround speaker test I don't hear any noise coming from my speakers but I do see sound outputting on my "Speakers" device in my control panel>sound. 3.Not exactly reled but my creive volume panel from the system tray disappeared and I would like it back any idea on how to do ? I had vista all these days and didn't have any issues. Now I had to install SAP which I needed Windows server 2003 and got these installed. My problem is below: The Mobo is Dell 0k138p (Intel Manufactured I guess!) and chipset is Mobile Intel® 4 Series Express Chipset Family. In the Dell , there is no drivers Mobo even XP! I got the network driver from realtek and got the network adapter working so th I have internet. But the Audio, it says no audio driver installed! In intel also, I couldn't find any working audio driver and currently there is no audio. Even the display adapter drivers are badly installed as they are of vista as I had no other option. Please help me in getting audio and the Mobo drivers my laptop to get these working in Win server 2003 Enterprise x86?

[Tech] Microphone Headphone Blues Posted: 04 Sep 2011 08:26 PM PDT Okay, it appears th week I haven't having luck with my hardware and devices. new issue arised out of the blue. To be real brief, I bought a new Headphone (Microphone tched) and I was recording videos with my speaking and everything worked flawlessly. However, yesterday I went to go try and record and now I cannot hear any audio or feedback from my Headphones I just bought. My question is how can I fix and happen to anybody else bee? Wh I do know: All audio drivers are uptode My motherboard BIOS is uptode My soundcard still works because I can still hear music from my 2.1 speakers (even with my headphones plugged in. Wh I don't understand: I plug my headphone into my front jacks and nothing pick's up. [All my USB Ports work] I plug my headphones into the back jacks and Windows picks it up, but still no sound or feedback. just happen within 48 hs. I didn't download anything within those 48 hs. so yea..:confused: All feedback is grely apprecied! :toast:

[Mob] factory unlock iphone on vodafone egypt Posted: 04 Sep 2011 07:14 PM PDT hi there, i was wondering if there was a way i could factory unlock my locked iphone 4 th i bought from vodafone egypt. the problem with buying the iphone from egyp is th you pay the price of the device (and then some) but you still get it locked. you dont buy it with a plan or contract or anything but it's still locked. and i was fine with it but now i will be moving to canada and i wanted to know if there was a way i could factory unlock it. ive asked a couple of people and they tell me vodafone doesnt offer an unlock service (as in, pay some extra money and get it factory unlocked through them) i'll go to the branch and ask there just in case. is there a way i could do it in an internional level, by which i mean go somewhere pay a certain fee and get my iphone unlocked. i found a bunch of webs claming to be legit but of cse i dont trust these things unless a few reliable people tell me it's legit. anyways hope someone can help me out here. if i cant unlock it then im gonna have to sell it and get a new one when i get to canada. and it's a tle plus id rher not sell it since iphone was a special gift given to me on a very special occasion. so it sentimental value. thank you. fayek. I've tried to reset my network settings and th doesn't help. Also, I entered my wifi password wrong once and it showed th I was connected and receiving a strong signal. Thanks
