[Mob] Itunes won't recognize my iPhone

I'm new to the um but am in despere need of suggestions. I am also probably one of the least technical on the um, so be gentle. :) I have a 3G iPhone. My iTunes account not recognized my phone over 2 months now. I just didn't have the time to mess with it. My son's 4G was recognized and he could sync with the iTunes account although it kept telling us th it could not back up iTunes to the computer. I had a computer technician come out and he reloaded iTunes and did a few other things trying to get it to work but nothing worked. Then yesterday when my son got a replacement 4G phone (warranty work). Now neither of the phones are recognized by iTunes. I have tried reading stuff online and have done everything out there th I could find but nothing works. I've unplugged PC and plugged back in, used different iPhone synch cable, plugged into every USB port on the PC, reloaded iTunes, powered off and on iPhone. Does anyone have any other ideas??? Help!

Have using Airtel the last 4 years.
Had used Docomo 45 months year but switched back to Airtel since Docomo reception is a bit pchy in my college. And their GPRS was slow.

Now with the 100sms/day rule being compulsorily implemented from 27th September, looking something with low cost SMS and GPRS.
Paying Rs.80 100sms/day is a total waste of money :@ . But love Airtel GPRS. None such fast speeds. :clap:

Is Reliance GSM any good? Do they have good network coverage? And anyone know how good is their GPRS?

Otherwise will move back to Docomo(Will have to live with their pchy coverage when inside college though)

guys and gals hello


After reading countless reviews ive finally taken the plunge have my very own S2. My previous phone was a IOS 4.01 Jailbroken Iphone 3GS and i resisted in getting a the Iphone 4. I had too many issues with my 3GS so was adament i was not going to get the Iphone 4 or the new up and coming 5

About 1 month ago i went into P4U and almost walked out with a S2 but i had read about the S2 plus or "celox" but decided to not wait any longer as dimension wise the S2 is prob as big as i would like a phone to be in my trouser pocket and the celox was likely to be bigger still.

Anyway back on topic 3 seemed to be offering the best deal with the one plan so ths who i went with.

the phone in general im really happy with but there are a few issues im not happy with

1. Some of the apps have adds all over them,
2. the 3 network lock and bootup screen
3. pre installed games like The sims3 th i cannot remove

ive told to root the phone and re flash with normal samsung firmware but i dont even know where to start as is my first android phone, i dont really know wh rooting is. is it like jailbreaking a iphone

do i root first or re flash new firmware first

ive read a little about custom roms but does not really appeal to me

can someone please take the eft to reply here or pm me.

In a possible bid to counter the upcoming AMD FX eightcore processors, Intel is reportedly reorganizing its Unlocked Core i7 processor series in the LGA1155 package. Currently there's only one Unlocked Core i7 LGA1155 processor model, the Core i72600K, and th is holding on to a US $320 pricepoint. It will be joined by the Core i72700K in the near future.

According to sces, won't quite be a case of i72700K displacing the i72600K from its $320 price point, but th the new chip will occupy a slightly higher price point than the $320 the i72600K commands. According to the sces VRZone spoke with, the new i72700K could "end up somewhere close to US$340350." It would then give Intel the flexibility to play with the price of the i72600K as the situion demands (letting the i72600K keep its $310~$320 price, or send it down below $300). Intel's Core i72700K is expected to launch on October 24, close to two weeks after AMD launches its first AMD FX processors.

[Mob] Help Needed Quick SSGS2 Backup Contacts

Hi all,
Sorry the subject title. My phone suffered from the problem of thinking its constantly connected to a usb. I've seen numberous other threads over the interent and I understand is a widespread problem. I've rang orange and they are going to replace my phone tomorrow morning.
However after telling me to back everything up I realised th my phone even though it thinks its connected to a computer as a usb device It wont actually connect to my computer. means th I cant backup my phone via Kies.
To make situion even more stressful I'm off to uni tomorrow so desperely need some help :/

I've able to backup all photos and videos via email however I really need help backing up my contacts and texts (if possible). Backing up games would be a bonus but I'm happy to sacrifice th.

I've tempted to backup my contacts but seem to have made things worse :/ Instead of going into my contacts and selected import/export from the menu I clicked 'Merge with Google'. Now I only have 5 contacts showing out of about 100 th where there bee :S.
I have no idea how to undo action.
I went into the groups tab on the contacts app and under 'Integred groups' there's one called 'My Contacts'. These contain all of my contacts I had previously but am unsure how I can just copy those onto my SIM or how to get them to show up on the main contacts page.

Regarding backing up texts i've downloaded an App which seems to be sending them to GMAIL and working fine so If you could just help me with my contacts problem then th would be gre

[Mob] How Do You Play Videos From Email tachments?

New to iOS (as of about a week or so ago). I came from Android and pretty much had th figured out. But I can't the life of me figure out how to play videos from an email. I'm assuming I need some kind of app, but I can't find one th works.

Here's the issue: I received an email with a .wmv tachment. I downloaded it and the only options th came up were play it with a few apps th were not compible (those apps being .PDF Reader Lite, Evernote, and Dropbox).

Can someone point me in the right direction as to wh app I need? I don't mind if I have to spend a couple bucks, just want to get working. Thanks!

[Tech] Can we use multiple internet connections on a single PC?

I have an Airtel BB connection. It suffers from disconnection during power outages which last a maximum of 3mins. played havok with my online gaming sessions as I am disconnected from the game. I want to hook up my 3G phone which a da plan as a back up.
I can tether it to my PC via WiFi or USB.

I want to know if is possible: When there is a power cut the BB connection temporarily dies. If my phone is connected to the PC (tethered) then is there a way to use it as a backup connection, where the internet connection seamlessly switches over to the 3G mobile internet during the power outage?

In simpler words, I want my phone to act like a UPS my BB connection.

My phone is tethered to the PC the time of typing . With pings in the region of 400+ it is highly unsuitable gaming. But it would nevertheless save me a disconnection.

My bro just got a microphone and I was wondering if there's an easy way to enable or disable it. I know you can right click on the volume icon, click on select recording devices then select the microphone, then click properties, then click on levels, and mute it but th's just way too many steps, I'm looking a more obvious and much easier way to do it.

can i change the start up of the phone, or least the music?

in polaris office, when i read a document but touch a certain point too long, it automically wants to look up the word in dictionary. how do i disable or just remove the dictionary?

how do i rename applicions/folders and change their icons. also i noticed th applicions in folders were somehow rearranged, all of a sudden. why is th?

wh is the quickest way to exit an applicion?

i want to try a new keyboard, or internet browser. can i still use the old ones if i try a new one?

if i delete some applicions i dont need, like social hub or email, can i still get them back?

how do i make sure i use internet via wifi and not via the phone provider? its quite expensive. is there some way to quickly enable/disable internet via the phone provider?

[Tech] How to make web show "Under Construction" page?

I was working on a web the company I work , various reasons we've decided we want to take it down a little while and just have it show "Under Construction". I'm about as ameur as you can get when it comes to web design, I used Microsoft Expression Web 4 to make it and Yahoo to host it. Wh's the easiest way me to take it down without permanently deleting anything since we'll likely be working on it and putting it back up ler?

I have an AutoCAD and Inventor user years now, I just picked up a copy of Maya 2011 using a friend's student ID.

I assumed it was going to be AutoCAD with more rendering capability, but it is looking more like a program to make movies and video games.

I can't make heads or tails of it. Is there a tutorial you guys can recommend? Any heuristic advice?

I'm not really sure if a camera reled question belongs here, if it doesn't I apologize. Anyway, I'm getting a Canon ELPH 500 HS as a gift someone. I was told it's a good camera the price. I personally don't take photos and don't own a camera, so I'm fairly uneduced about wh memory card to get camera. According to Newegg, the camera SD/SDHC/SDXC slots. From wh I can gher SDXC doesn't seem very stable and good the moment. Is a Class 10 speed ring SDHC card my best bet? Or is there anything faster I can get?

I am having GPS issues with my 3GS on 4.3.5. I noticed some intermittent issues a few weeks ago but thought I was just in a bad GPS area. I use MotionX GPS and was getting quite a few "Y iPhone lost its GPS signal, please be sure y iPhone a clear view of the sky" prompts when driving (and yes, my phone had a clear view of the sky). Now it's just dead in the wer. No GPS, no Google maps pinging blue dot, no Trapster, no accure "AroundMe" action... nothing. Basically, my phone less of an idea of where I am than I do!

I love my iPhone. I mean I really love my iPhone! GPS issue is major me though... So many things I love about my iPhone are no longer functional. Shoot, even facebook thinks I'm in another flippin' town!

Okay, maybe th's a little overboard, but the fact is, my GPS (and many others' as well) is fried. Wh's the deal, Apple???

Any suggestions, fellow TiPbers?

Well basicly ive using a small 16" monitor almost 6 moths @ RESOLUTION of 1280 x1024 and all was peachy unitl i plugged in my new samsung syncmaster p2450, 24" you see when im in windows i can change the resolution upto 1920x1080 but the problem is whenever i reboot, when windows login screen it starts th resolution only a second then automicly reverts to 1280x1024 , im using the lest possible drivers of the monitor(installed after the problem started),
got lest calyst 11.8 and all win7 updes installed but problem sticks

win7 64bit
asus crosshair iv mula motherboard
amd phenom ii x4 970 be 3.5ghz processor

wh could be the problem? drivers?, windows? calyst? faulty monitor?

Hi,

Anybody up to de with these willing to comment?

Does one have a clear advantage offline use?

Some of these have feures beyond wh I want. I use Dropbox and times would like something a but more sophisticed to organize wh I would have in basic text documents or a way to book mark things.

Another interest might be a way to organize notes and tasks per project th would be independent of the groupware and customers' enterprise apps I use.

I'm told Evernote permance can be poor if y network connection is poor.

Hello, is my first time on techpowerup.com so I am hoping it will be useful in helping solve my current issue. I just made the switch back to PC so I am a bit clueless when it comes to hardware now.

I just got the Acer AM3410 and am looking to upgrade its graphics card to handle minor gaming. I am not building a gaming rig the moment so I don't need some 500 dollar graphics card but I want something th can get the job done and run newly released games fairly well.

Everything in the computer linked here is still stock.

A few cards i was looking would be the Gece GT 440, Radeon HD 5670, or the 5770.

Hi Everyone,
I have an Apple ipad 2 and I want to type Urdu language directly into web browser (ums, emails, fb etc) and mainly into Pages (similar to how urdu can be typed directly in MS Word in windows) using my external usb keyboard. I have tried to use the app called "Arabic Pro" which also an option urdu but th only allows me to type in the app instead of typing directly into Pages or safari and only with the virtual keyboard.

I have an external keyboard and I tried to use Urdu Keyboard .com to type urdu but the virtual keyboard or the external Usb keyboard both don't work, I have to click on each letter to type and th takes too long. Plz let me know if there is any way I can install urdu on my ipad and type directly into pages/safari with my external keyboard.

Hi there.
I was casually browsing some internet s today via lan connection to my router, when suddenly my friend complained th the her internet connection stopped working (she's using a laptop connected via wifi). I figured it was just the laptop acting up or the modem/router requiring a reset. After troubleshooting a while, I tried connecting my smartphone to the wifi connection to check if the problem was with the laptop, but th didn't work either.

It seems like the router keeps resetting, as the wifi connection keeps showing up and disappearing again from the "Connect to..." screen.
Am I looking a dead router here? Or least just the wireless part of it? Just wanted to hear some opinions bee I k out some cash a new one.
It's a DLink DI524 by the way.

I am redesigning a i manage with the goal of making it cleaner and less "busy" (finally!)

I already know screen.width & height to get the size. and i have read of a few different ways to get an idea of the rio with th, but they all seem too compliced.

is there not a simple mula th can give you aspect rio given width and height in pixels? (eg 1920x1080)if not simple, how would any of you detect the aspect rio?

the reason , is the design will rely on a photo background, and i want it to stay all the time. I have a js script th resizes it on the fly, but it relies on knowing the starting aspect rio. i want to make three basic ones, one 5:4, 4:3, and 16:9 each. but i need to know their screen rio to pick the right one.

i started by just using width, as th's pretty telling but it's not enough. also, firefox 6.02 some reason reports the total screen as being 1760 whereas IE sees it as 1920 (correct).

From T. Telling me th I can no longer tether. Then went on to say th they will automically change my unlimited account to a 4GB account. My price will go from $30 to $45.

Interesting th they targeted me. I am usually around 1GB of da a month. month, we lost power a week, so I tethered the ipad. My Da jumped to just under 2GB the month.

anyone successful fighting ? When I signed up with T, they did not offer tethering. There is nothing in my contract th mentions tethering. Now, they are trying to change my contract. The way I see it, since there is nothing sting th I can not tether, they are breaking the contract.

any thoughts?

Legendary cricketer and mer Indian captain Mansoor Ali Khan Paudi, who was admitted to a prominent city hospital last month following lung infection, passed away on Thursday.

Paudi had shifted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of Sir Ganga Ram Hospital where a team of doctors including pulmonologists were closely monitoring his condition.

Paudi was on very high level of oxygen support, requiring intermitted BIPAP (Bilevel Positive Airway Pressure) support.

Paudi was the youngest captain to lead India in Test cricket the age of 21.

Paudi, regarded as one of the finest Indian captains, played 46 Tests the country, scoring 2793 runs an average of 34.91 with an un 203 being his highest score.

Paudi led India in 40 Tests and under him India achieved their first Test overseas victory in New Zealand.

In all, he smashed six centuries and 16 fifties in his career.

Paudi was admitted to the hospital on August 29 and had diagnosed with interstitial lung disease, a condition in which the passage of oxygen to the two lungs is less than normal.

Paudi is survived by wife Sharmila Tagore and three children.

We have worked bee with an EDV equiped with "p5q socket 775" asus motherboard, we have also customized printed circuit based on HCS08 microcontrolleur. We used to make an usb communicion between the motherboard and customized board. (usb v2.0)

A several days ago, we have changed the old motherboard with a new one which is "p8h67 socket 1155" asus motherboard, with new board we have found a problem of communicion with customized board by using the usb v2.0 protocol. In fact,sometimes the EDV didn't detect customizd board.

So wh could the problem?

I'm waiting you suggestions.

I have my phone about 4 months. I connect it to USB in work to charge and was able to pull down the notificions to connect to the storage when I needed. I tried it today and when I plug in the USB cable I get "MTP Applicion" launching. It a picture of a USB connection and it says connected file transfer. In windows explorer my 2 drives (removable drives phone and SD card) are gone and the camera is showing up. When I double click on the camera it brings me into my folders but then I can't access anything in the folders.

MTP Applicion mentions KIES so I presume it is reled to KIES Air.

Can anyone tell me how I remove and get back to the way I had it bee??

I am currently modding an old cabinet, which my uncle purced(with complete system, ofcse) about more than 14 years ago!(Lol, I am modding a cabinet of my age :P)

I have done with some part of it, and I will constantly upde the thread when I complete more steps.

Anyway, the TV upstairs is an older LCD and only DVI input with a corresponding Audio Jack input the sound. Do you guys know if it is possible to use a HDMI to DVI cable, which I already have, along with a standard 3.5mm to 3.5mm audio cable to get the sound?

Hope someone can help Im after a duel charging coneector my i pad , ill try and explain the best I can , im using the programme djay on my i pad also using it with the Numark idj live , the problem is if I plug in numarks I dj live into my I pad 2 it takes up the slot where you would normally put the Apple charger in, and you cant charge the i pad with lead in, so wh im after is something like a duel adaptor th would plug into the I pad so I can still charge it and also put the Numark lead in as well.

If is confusing another way to explain it is I need an adaptor so like instead of putting one charger lead in to an ipad or i phone I need a lead th would do 2 but from the one connection on the i pad or I phone . Thanx.

I have now changed my number and do not use my old number. So only those who have my new number can check to see if I am online.

Guys a little help..
I just bought a new laptop HP Probook 4530 ...It windows 7 home premium preinstalled 64 bit os..But a problem is der are three partitions
1 C: (275gb)primary partition
2 D:(Hp recovery16gb)primary partition
3 E:(Hp tools5gb)primary parition
4System drive300mbprimary partition

Now i need the c drive to have only 60 gb and want to split it up into another drive with 200gb or so..but since it already 4 primary partitions , the next drive becomes a dynamic drive..i want it as a primary parition incase i wanna install xp..

So i am planning to rem all with the original key of windows os given the back side of laptop and i dont want any hp recovery parititions..Is the reovery paritition really necessary ?..and also the hp tools?..can i install all the required drivers from the hp ?...
and also is the key given the backside is only 64bit os of windows 7 home premium or i can change it to 32bit os,?..
also i dont have any required disk of windows 7 cd to install , can i download it from net and install with the original key given?..

Please someone help me

I had to completely restore my iPhone 4 which meant I lost my jailbreak and am now on 4.3.5. I have my ssh blobs from 4.3.1 but I don't really want to have to go back there. All I need the jailbreak is BiteSMS so I tried the Redsn0w tethered jailbreak. I got Cydia on there and was able to reboot tethered, however after installing BiteSMS and hitting the "Restart Springboard" button the phone was stuck on the Apple screen. I had no choice but to completely restore AGAIN.

So now I'm nervous about doing the jailbreak again. If I use Redsn0w again and install BiteSMS, do I just shut the phone down without clicking on the "Restart Springboard" or am I supposed to restart the springboard? I'm a loss as to why my phone would hang afterwards if the jailbreak works.

The upgrade starts ok and runs until the phone displays 'Downloading...' which point I get the message 'PC failed to recognise the mobile phone.' and says to disconnect phone, remove btery, restart phone and try again. i have done several times but the same thing happens every time. Help!

Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd., the world leader in advanced memory technology, announced today th it begun operions of its new Line16 memory semiconductor fabricion facility, which will provide the industry's largest production capacity. It also announced the start of mass production of the industry's first double da re3 (DDR3) dynamic random access memory (DRAM) based on 20 nanometer (nm) class process technology, which offers significant improvements to productivity and reduces energy consumption. The announcements were made during a ceremony Samsung's Nano City Complex in Hwaseong, Gyeonggi Province, where the new Line16 is loced.

Receiving the first wafer from the new memory line, Samsung Electronics Chairman Kunhee Lee said: "The global semiconductor industry is in a period of fierce cyclical volility, so the opening of new memory fab and the start of mass production of the world's first 20nmclass DRAM are important milestones to reince Samsung's industry leadership."
"We must prepare an intensifying storm in the semiconductor industry by further enhancing technological capabilities and expertise in order to maintain leadership position," he said.

The ceremony was tended by about 500 guests including Samsung Electronics Chairman Kunhee Lee; Ohhyun Kwon, President of Device Solutions; Jay Y. Lee, President and Chief Opering Officer, as well as executives of major customer companies and representives from the IT industry.
With the start of production the new fab, which will constitute a total investment of 12 trillion Korean won through completion, Samsung aims to reince its leadership in the global memory semiconductor segment, while providing the technology and capacity to support the longterm growth of the global IT industry.

Samsung began construction of Line16 in May 2010 and completed installion of equipment clean rooms May. Trial production began in June and the facility was made operional mass production in August.

Housed in a 12story building, Line16 is the industry's most advanced and largest memory fabricion facility, with a combined workspace of approximely 198,000 square meters.
Starting month, Samsung began mass production of highpermance 20nmclass NAND flash memory chips, with a projected volume of more than 10,000 12inch wafers monthly.
Samsung plans to ramp up production of NAND flash memory to meet market demand, and will begin production of more advanced memory semiconductors with high density and permance using 10nmclass* process technology next year.

Line16 provides Samsung the capacity and flexibility to meet demand its innovive memory products utilizing both the most advanced process technology and the most advanced fabricion facilities.

Mass Production of industry's first 20nmclass DDR3 DRAM
Samsung also announced the world's first mass production of 20nmclass 2 gigabit (Gb) DDR3 DRAM.

The 20nmclass DDR3 DRAM promises the most advanced permance yet, a further improvement on the 30nmclass DDR3 DRAM th Samsung introduced in July last year. The 20nmclass solution improves productivity by 50 percent and reduces energy consumption by up to 40 percent, therein providing the greenest DDR3 solution available.

With plans to also develop a new 20nmclass DDR3 component in 4Gb density by the end of 2011, Samsung will broaden its memory product lineup with mass production of 4 gigabyte (GB), 8GB, 16GB and 32GB DDR3 modules next year.

Hi,

contracts are coming up and we are considering getting the new iPhone (2 of them)

We have a concern about iTunes. Right now we keep all ripped music in the music folder (we use Win7) and have taken gre pains to fill out id tags very well. The phones and devices we use right now just allow us to plug them into computer and then drag and drop them as we please.
We have read th iTunes can sometimes rename or mess up tags or filenames when putting y music into it.

Obviously we would not want to happen. We have read th sometimes very odd names come up such as F0AB etc... Now it seems to me th, th is some system iTunes uses to calog its files. Still we have seen complaints and want to make sure nothing bad would happen to files.

So questions are
Is there something us to be worried about?
Does iTunes or is there a chance when moving music into it th it might not get all file names or id tags correct?

Took a new connection when i reached here in mumbai, Got it recharged with 99 rupees recharge gprs to use it my phone to check mail and messenger, also recharged with 400 rupees which fetch me some 372 or so TT and some promo of 28.. today morning when i woke up my balance is RS.0.06, called up the CC where none knows even english( Pity on the billion dollar company) , After 15 minutes of long wait they picked up and told be online to check up the details , another long 10 minutes with their bull Shi** music on background... and he came up with conclusion u have used up all ur 3GB and it exceeded... i was like.. WTF...Just checking mail and using messenger , 3GB da in 1 week....gr8 findings..... i used DoCoMo back home and used to recharge 48 bucks 2gb and never couldnt cross 1 gb mark by 1 month.... all my 274 bucks gone in a flash...bloody sucke*s..

Code 24 means the device does not appear to be present. The problem might be bad hardware, removable hardware th is not removed, or a new driver might be needed. Devices stay in ste if they have prepared removal.
Resolution:
Complete the physical removal of the device. Then, I would suggest you to upde all the drivers y computer (chipset, video card, display and network adapter drivers) to the lest drivers by ing the manufacturer

1) Which one should i buy? I bought Beetel Boom 10000 550 Rs sometime back, but they are a bit too heavy and tight. Also they make my ear and the backside of the neck pain.

2) Where can i buy them? I am from Piala, i have to various stores here but they only keep iball and intex headphones. Don't want to buy any of those.

Hii

On Monday i purced a new PC which which i got a Sony DVD R/W, but the problem is the dvd r/w is not detecting any autorun any dvd. i mean when i insert a game dvd it is taking too long me to start the Setup and setup also takes too long to begin.
neither i can copy anything.

same dvd works fine on my laptop.

The DVD R/W is ad7260s by Sony.
the driver version shown by upde utility of sony is 1.61 and the driver on the web is 1.03.
so help me out quickly.

So, I was running ios5 beta 7 and decided to go back to 4.3. The problem is I was trying to go back to 4.3.3 and th was the wrong IPSW. It obviously didn't work. So, I tried to do a factory restore through iTunes and it keeps failing. I tried TinyUmbrella and th didn't work. I also tried fixrecovery43 and th didn't work. I also downloaded the IPSW 4.3.5 and it still locks up. I need phone to work like an h ago and did not expect . Can someone please help!?

EDIT: I have a factory unlocked iPhone 4 and it was on 4.3.5 when I got it.

[Tech] Yet another SB upgrade thread

I'm looking making the 2500k upgrade if BD isn't better than Intel's SB. Wh board would you recommend considering my current system. I am partial to Gigabyte and EVGA, but not against giving another brand a shot. I'll also be looking a new CPU hesink aswell. Pretty sure I can handle picking out the RAM, but suggestions are apprecied. Budget? Probably around the $500 mark the upgrade.

Oh, and newegg is my friend.

I believe somebody already talked about the reason why AMD delayed the Bulldozer CPU. It nothing to do with whether Bulldozer is completed or not, they've already packaged and waiting mass shipments and/or they've already shipped. The only logical explinion IMHO is they are trying to flush out current Phenom II's. I mean they are already selling killer prices such as $145 and less. If AMD was to release the Bulldozer CPU's say tomorrow, they would be ced to further drop the prices of current PII's by as much as 50% IMO.
