[Mob] Memory and other E6 Problems

Although I have loved my e72 dearly, especially the lest firmware upde. I decided to take a shot the E6, primarily because I have come to depend too much on Whsapp instant messaging and the out of memory errors were just becoming too much to keep using the device on a practical basis.

Enter the E6. I loved the screen, but going back to a mixed touch was taking practice. However, the gripes started almost immediely:

Ovi store would hang the login pe. After soft and hard resetting did not solve the issue, I searched online and found th there were some QT issues and finally found a link from which to completely replace the Ovi Store.

Having done th and with a y functional Ovi Store, I proceeded to download and install my programs (SPB Wallet, Skype, Whsapp, Fring, joikuspot). Although I rely heavily on the phone I usually only have email on all times, exchange my calendar and contacts and Whsapp. Evertyhing else is fired up on a need to do basis.

Well, I started having problems almost immediely. The phone would freeze (to get it back from the locked screen blank which is usually done with the side unlock switch, I had to remove the btery and reboot).

Then Whsapp (I think) started putting a white screen on the phone with an error a hook. I googled it and it seems to be python error.

I uninstalled whsapp and did the soft reset (which on the E6 seems also to erase random mailboxes nokia mail or exchange).

I redid the mailboxes, installed whsapp again and...

White screen came back.

I decided to do a hard reset on the phone and start from scrch

Good boy, now all apps were working one a time.

Whsapp was installed again, and I was able to enjoy a few days of a workable phone.

Once the phone seemed solid, I brought over my music collection from my N8 via the sd card (about 800 songs).

White screen again. However, now there was no way to escape the white screen, except by removing the btery.

Hard reset again.

Installed programs one by one. Moved the music in. Everything seems dandy. I install whsapp and the system crashed. Not only does it refuses to connect to the whsapp server, it gives me notice th I have some new messages and then I get a Memory error from the OS. Even though the system reports 177 mb free.

memory error now pops up everytime I want to do anything on the phone. If I take the btery out, the error comes back. Applicion manager will not let me uninstall whsapp. Soft reset does not help (just erases my mailboxes randomly).

As I have not able to find any reported problems th are remotely similar on the web, I am giving the E6 and Anna the benefit of the doubt. is probably a jinxed or defective phone. If I cannot get it solved (and pience is running low), I am just going to send it back to Amazon a replacement, and see how the new unit behaves.

Also, while using the phone I noticed an extraordinary amount of dropped calls compared to my N8 or E72. Anybody experienced something similar?

[Tech] Need a modded Asus EAH4890 bios!

Hello,

I'm new here and I post thread to ask help. I have card http://www.asus.com/Graphics_Cards/A...H4890HTDI1GD5/ (the model with 2 red vents). I've tried to mod it into the "top" model, using the 2 bios versions downloaded from the bios dabase. Black screen. I've reflashed the card with the original bios.

Can anyone modify my original bios so th to increase the stock voltage from 1.300v to least 1,350v the stock frequencies (850/975)? Here's my bios tached. Or if there is anyone who a bios y compible with my card th 100% works higher voltages.

Also, I've modded the original bios into a 4890 "top" version (900/1000), but with the voltages untouched. I tach bios, too. If can be modified to have a higher voltage of 1,350v the 900/1000 setup it would be gre :)

I have a white iPhone 4 and have Ghost armor on the back and the front. I was wondering if I should even bother getting a bumper to protect the sides. I also like the idea th the bumper raises the phone slightly.

I few days ago I dropped my phone and the back glass cracked, luckily I got it replaced free but I don't want to drop and crack it again.
I want something to highlight the white iPhone and I don't want to cover the back or the front. I heard people saying th Apple bumpers have scrching the metal band. Soo should I get a bumper? Is it worth it?

[Mob] iPhone 4 btery life suddenly reduces more quickly

I got phone in April, 2011, and the btery life always impressive. As of the last few days, (today is 8/30/11) my btery life suddenly goes down much quicker than it used to, but without using the phone very much.

I know there are things I can do to keep from happening (changing how often it checks mail, wifi search, etc.), but I haven't recently changed any of those settings. Why would it be doing now?

Could it be a new app th I've used? I was under the impression th with iPhone 4, the apps don't run in the background when you are not actively in them.

Am I missing something?

Hey.

Just got my iPhone 4 replaced because of problems with the home button (not recognizing double clicks as double clicks, etc...) and got a new one and noticed th it can't detect any wifi networks... Only if i put the phone 10cm from the router i get 2 bars from total 3.

Tried restoring the phone, resetting network settings, resetting the router, with different ones, on different locions, nothing works, or let's say everything works but only very close distance.

Do you guys think it's faulty or am i missing something here ?

A few weeks ago my ta docomo connection started behaving abnormally during night on my nokia I changed the cell to sony but the problem was network now I am using samsung galaxy s 2 since last one week internet speed is redeculas in 3 g too the connection drops every few minutes even it network bar is got a duplice sim but no relief travelled to different areas to check but same problem my downloads don't stop until I keep browsing net side by side as soon as I stop browsing it downloads stop pinging helps to a certain.extent please help me out

Hey all. I just got an alert from gmail saying th my account was accessed through an IP in Luxembg. I do have a friend there, but didn't think she was capable of haxing my email. I took a screenie of the warning screen does anyone know wh it could be?

I punched in the IP and it took me straight to skype which confuses me as to why skype would want to steal my gmail too. Just thought I'd check with those smarter than me to figure out wh went on lol.

I recently got my 5770, it was a major improvement over my 4650, today I put my 4650 back in my mobo, but in the second 16x slot. It doesn't have any crossfire slots, and I was wondering how I would configure crossfire with the 5770 and 4650, or can it not be done with two giant leaps in technology?

My Corsair 400CX bit the dust today.

I left to go to class morning, came home lunch, and the PC was off.

My roomme said the power went out a while, so I'm thinking th killed it.

Anyway, I need a replacement because Corsair is sling me about the RMA and I don't have time to wait to figure the situion out I need the computer school.

The big problem is th I need to buy on the cheap because I just bought books school and I'm pretty much tapped out a few weeks until I get paid again.

So I was looking a Thermaltake 430w $30 after rebe.

But just as I was about to the Thermaltake I saw a HEC Compucase 585w $21 after rebe!

I was y expecting to have to take out my GTX 460 with the Thermaltake but I don't think I'll have to do th with the HEC.

The problem I have though is I don't know how good of a brand HEC is.

I know Thermaltake is good so do I pay more less wts but a better brand, or pay less more wts with an unknown brand?

Like the title says I am looking a low end radeon HD card. Something 3xxx series or newer preferably. Not looking to spend to much. Just plan on modding it to a pcie 1x card so I can run my 3rd display. Prefer it had a black or red PCB to mch the color scheme of my build. Not interested in a nvidia card because I want it to play nice with my 6870. So if you got one you would sell real cheap let me know. Hello fellow TPUers

I've out of the loop recently and have found my PC overheing and starting to crash now and then when gaming. I've recorded the highest temperures my GPU and CPU have hit and are as follows in degrees Celsius:

GPU: 105
CPU: 71

The only thing i can think of is to try and replace the thermal paste (but the cost of voiding the warrenty?) and maybe fooling around with some cable management.

If anyone can give me a few tips i would apprecie it :)

I am planning to connect my Intel DG31PR based CPU to Sony EX4 to see my BD rips in Sony.

But I dont have any DVI port motherboard.

Can some one please suggest on wh makes me to configure my CPU with Sony.

i guess , If i use VGA to HDMI, the clarity will not be good.

I may require a graphics card which contains DVI, but not sure which basic graphic card fulfills my requirement and wh type of DVI , I require (DVID/DVII etc.,)

I can't post in the buy/sell yet until my 14 days are up, but I just want to know how much I should sell pc . If I posted in the wrong thread, u guys can move it.

Motherboard: XFX 780i 3 way SLI (it boots up and runs well, but it posts "FF" I don't know wh th means, but still runs gre nonetheless)

I plan to clean it up and rewire everything bee I actually sell it. I wish to sell it but wh do you guys think I should do with it. Since there is new stuff coming out the end of year (or next), pc is just wasting space.

Last year Android Central member Tony Bag of Donuts and I started a fantasy NHL league of CBers and ACers. year I would like to invite the WHOLE Mobile Nion to join us. When I first switched on my new S2, I recall a message th asked me to choose between Orange (apps?) and Samsung (apps?). I chose Orange assuming th I could select Samsung ler. However, I have not able to find anything on th.

Could somebody please tell me wh the option was and whether I can choose Samsung.

I sleep while wching movies on my LCD TV , which is 10ft far from me . So while sleeping I just switch off monitor by Remote . I do it every night , some ppl told me not to do .It will affect Lcd power ic or sumthing like th.so should I switch off my lcd by main switch or remote off is fine ?

[Tech] Need help buying Network Switch

I've never really shopped anything like bee, but the connection in the office seems slow when people are transferring files around so we thought about buying a new network switch. It's a small office 10 people, so we were going to run C 6 cables selves since we have existing C 5's. If the network connection is fast enough from say a server PC hosting all the files, does hard drive speed become the new limition? The read speeds on the server we use is about 250MB/s, yet when transferring anything over the network it seems much slower.

Anyway, as you're reading you can probably tell I'm a bit lost. Wh should I be looking besides the number of ports when shopping a switch? I need 14 I believe, possibly 12...but 14 to be safe. Do C 5 cables bottleneck the speed of a switch and need to be replaced? Wh other issues might there be?

The Z5300 subwoofer is WAYYYYYYYYYYYYYY too bassy. I have it turned down on the physical control panel and it's still way too loud an apartment building.

Is there any way to just play music out of the two front speakers and not the annoying subwoofer? I have onboard sound and I can't find any software th helps.

I just want sound coming out of my speakers, but apparently you can't turn off the subwoofer. I tried unplugging the orange cord from both the woofer and the PC leaving only the "front" green cord plugged in but it still sends out an annoying level of bass.

Any way to turn thing off? I will get evicted if I play any music any sound level with stupid thing.

I know th asked time and time again, and I did some searches but I figure the easiest way to go about it is to ask :)

So here is my question. I currently have a Japanese Android phone....made by SHARP and is just really a struggle daily to use it. Since it's not Sim free (or unlocked) plus I travel a lot I purced a Galaxy S2 which is unlocked figuring I can use it overseas as well as Japan and if I were to get moved I can use it there as well :D

Little glitch is th I am an Android NOOB so is a bit beyond my capability...:confused:

I was hoping to use the internet and everything via wifi if my da packet didn't work...but I am connected to my WIFI home yet the internet and everything won't connect...so I thought may have something to do with the fact I need to add a Google Account :o

So I tried to add my Google Account but it keeps telling me "Can't establish a reliable da connection to the server" then I searched...and there was a lot of discussions th you can't add a google account via wifi...

those of you on here th may know better...can I use the Galaxy S2 over the wifi without using da stream internet, market, email etc. yet SMS/Talk via the phone?

I am new to itunes I am frustringly abandoning HP and their webOS fiasco (love th OS tho!) and moving on to the iphone 5 when it is released on Verizon. So I am getting used to itunes and becoming familiar with the app store. I have noticed th I can use Ping in itunes to Like or post about a song I am listening to. However, I ran across a situion where I was listening to a song th was not in itunes' dabase (weird, huh?) and so could not Ping it all. Is there no way to post directly to twitter or facebook from itunes? No plugin of any kind or anything?

Just curious. And sorry the n00b post. Also, I notice the newest version of itunes freezes up a lot in Windows 7. Common problem?

Just got an N8 which Nokia gave me after my N900 packed in hope you guys can help as struggling a little bit with some things. Most I have found doing some Google searches (saving WAN passwords, converting Maps to use MPH and finding out there is NOTHING you can do about the blue bookmark shortcuts giving no info on y web page! Grrr)

I have many video clips in .avi m which the N8 does not play the USB options Nokia OVI Suite and Media Transfer ste you can sync y media files how do I do ?

I have installed OVI Suite and I am not not too sure how to use it I selected folders to add (pics, music & Vid clips) but they only appear on my OVI Suite on my PC not on my phone. Do I hjave to drag them into the approprie folder then? How do I ensure they are snych'd correctly then?

Am I missing something so obvious I will kick myself? Hope you guys can help.

So I've just acquired the above, the thing is I've manage to put a rig together with the chip and some of my other parts. I'm using the cooler I got with my 1055T which I'd of thought would of suitable as both chips are 125w but the damn thing idles in the mid 50's (decgrees C). Motherboard BIOS is upto de and the cooler checked and rechecked so there isn't much else to it, could it just be the cooler isn't enough, or do I have a dying chip? :ohwell:

The thing is I've looking wireless access points but seems they need to have an ethernet cable to connect to the main router which would be a problem in case. Every time Samsung release a new upgrade .. the phone carries out upgraded but loses some of it's configurion.


Just upgraded from JVO to JVQ ... not sue wh the upgrade was, as both called Gingerbread.

Once again after upgrade all shortcuts on teh home screens are lost.


Surly it should not be too hard the upgrade file to back up personal settings file and restore them after upgrade ? or even allow us to do it manually.

The game runs fine on the laptop with integred graphics (system specs in my signure)

However today I installed it on a much better desktop with a Q9400 processor, 2GB RAM and Intel(R) G33/G31 Express Chipset Family the EA logo half appears and the game crashes to desktop.

Do you think it's because of the graphics chip? Or could it be th game doesn't like Windows 7 (the laptop uses XP)?

Yesterday my iPad app all erase , because in the pass I install all my app from installous , th is I download using installous , with out go thru Itune.

It work fine , and when I sync my Itune , I thou of delete some apps using Itune , suddenly Itune delete all my app.

So my question now is : it is better to download app from apptrackr and install thru Itune.

Gigabyte released a new utility th allows you to change the mode of the chipset SA controller between IDE, AHCI, and RAID (if available), from within Windows. While the switching isn't exactly onthefly (because changing SA mode is effectively changing the SA controller as Windows sees it, and hence can't happen onthefly), it certainly saves the trouble of going into BIOS setup and digging out th option. The utility works by writing the value of the selected mode to the CMOS, and prompting a system reboot the change to take effect. Gigabyte's Disk Mode Switch utility works on Gigabyte motherboards based on Intel 6series chipset (H61, H67, P67, and Z68). Now why you'd need a Windowsbased utility to change a BIOS setting as infrequently changed as SA controller mode is something we'll leave it to you to comment on.

I'm using the standard Contacts App th came with the phone. I've imported my contacts from my SD card. Whenever I try to cree a new contact all I can enter is name and phone number. Older contacts have space addresses etc. Any ideas anyone wh I'm doing wrong.

Guys yesterday when i changed my ram lency to 88822 restarted the
System but after restart the monitor shows power saving mode nothing else.it happened even bee once but th time it worked correctly after 23 restart.i checked monitor with other system and it is working fine.i removed gfx and booted with onboard but still no luck.i inserted ram in another slot and reinserted cmos btery after some time but in vain.system starts perfectly but doen't give any beep.the processor,mobo,ram,hdd are just 1 Week old.so guys wh say which is the culprit mobo or psu?

Every now and then it shows last call 10 paisa, 20 paisa etc whereas I am not making any voice calls or using net. I use net with wifi. I have a hosting account Arvixe, obviously Windows hosting. While signing up, I didn't know (as there was no way of knowing it) th they have a limition of 6 webs (even was ok) but each subdomain also counts as a web.

I am hosting 3 s of my own (2 top level domains and one subdomain) and 3 my friends. Lely, it become a necessity us to add few more subdomains but we can't due to th 6 web limition. Nurally, I ranted about it which I got a cool reply too. (you have to look post by me, "Gagan")

I have some doubts about Disk Imaging, which are as below:

01] In case if I want to restore system drive from an image, how process takes place? Wh happens to new da (like newly installed programs after image is creed) which is not present in the image? Does the imaging software ms partition bee restoring or wh?

02] In case if I have two OSes installed on two different partitions (with two different image DVDs), and I need to restore any one of them, is possible to do without affecting another OS? (I have WinXP and Win7). Does affect bootloader?

03] The techsupportalert.com suggests to use "Paragon Backup & Recovery (Advanced) Free Edition" software . Have anybody used software? Can anybody suggest me any good program which is easy to use and of cse FREEWARE / OPEN SCE

[Tech] GTX 580 Phantom 3GB temperure issues

So my brother and I both have Gainward 580 Phantom 3GB cards, but his card is running noticably cooler than mine.

His is on an i7920 plm in an Antec 1200 case

Mine is on a i52500k plm in a Corsair Graphite 600T White case.

When I play games I reach about 85 degress and the fans are running 80%

When he does it he hardly reaches 70 degress and fans only running around 5060%, so it's much quiter than mine.

Running Furmark in screen nive res his reaches 66 degrees, while mine gets to 90!..

Is my airflow really th much worse? Explaining over 20 degrees in difference? Or have I ended up with a bad card?.. Anyone else with the same card ( or the 1,5gb version) willing to share their temps :)..

I'm using MSI Afterburner to check temps and fan speed.. If I run my fans 100% I seem to peak 83 degrees in furmark and my pc sounds like a jet about to take off :O.

Its a very good thing th ubuntu 11.04 allowed to use vlc media player. But I cant use 1 interface of vlc to use ,means if i play a file in vlc and and start another file then it doesnt overwrite but it is opening another vlc player. They've got a lot to fix bee OS will be ready mainstream usage. Here's the issues I've run into so far using beta 6:

1) Syncing is hit or miss corded yields album art syncing and unsyncing itself randomly

2) Wifi Syncing is a disaster half the time iTunes doesn't even recognize the phone, and when it finally does, it hangs a "waiting changes to reconcile" message the last step and I have to ce kill everything just to stop the syncing it worked with the sync a podcast trick someone posted elsewhere ONCE after th, wireless syncing locks up every time (rebooting both mac and phone)

3) Changes to notificions requires a reboot to make any of the changes effective

Everyone is convinced th the final release is right around the corner, but I can say th if they release thing without putting out another beta to address the flaws it , they're looking having a slew of pissed off users. There's huge potential with release, but its extremely aggraving th through 6 betas they still have yet to address these rher large issues.

the system used to shut down on its own, sometimes with a blue screen error. after a few days, it now a no boot no display error. tried to use only one stick of memory in alterne slots. no go, tied reseed the CMOS btery.. tried without the gfx card, no go.. finally changed the PSU, worked a few minutes and then again i am back to the no boot no display scenario. cleaned up the entire rig.. unseed the processor, reapplied the thermal paste, still no go. please let me know if is an issue with my motherboard.. please find below my config:

Asus M2nMx motherboard
2 gb of ram (2 sticks)
hlon CPU X3 Phenom
Gece GTS 450
1.75 TB HDD

let me know wh should be my next step of action?

also can anyone suggest me a good motherboard to go with the same processor??

Okay, I got my Astound from TMobile early in April when the phone was released. Since then, I've installed a lot of software; some from the Ovi Store, some from .sis files from Nokia Developer/Nokia Beta Labs.

A few weeks ago, I tried installing the upded version of fMobi (man, it's gre!), but installion hangs "preparing installion" (N.B. is AFTER an installion completes. is probably important inmion, maybe a dependency is hanging?)

It is not shown anywhere on the web Creive and it looks really wierd but crazy me in pursuit of yet another cheap USB audio solution I ordered one. $35 I figured wh the heck and it looks like the Soundblaster XFi Surround Pro and it Dolby Digital Live which can come in handy gaming. Plan on using headphones most of the time so we'll see wh happens. Is it good, bad, ugly? Could it be a fake or otherwise dastardly plot? It sure is not the best looking thing out there but hey like in some other things wh it is capable in the bedroom will suffice. :laugh:

Hi everyone,

I've suffering with RSI quite badly a while now. I'm a writer, and voice recognition software helped with th, but I'm also an avid gamer.

As the main problem with RSI is repetition, switching the way you do things often can be very helpful. I came to the conclusion theree th during gaming, regularly swapping my keyboard and mice between hands could be a good idea.

I have to sympae with any lefties here though; firstly there aren't a huge amount of lefthanded gaming mice (thanky I own a Razer Lachesis, which is ambidextrous), but also default keyboard bindings (WASD) accommode righthand mouse users only.

My plan was to flip my keyboard layout, with the character keys roughly a mirror image of themselves, but WASD kept in the same mion, using PL;' keys remapped, movement. My layout needs to be able to switch onthefly between normal and flipped, so I can easily change over hands, and whilst using flipped layout quickly switch back to normal if I need to type/ch. A permanent/hard to alter setting is not an option.

I used Microsoft Keyboard Layout Creor and made my custom layout, then loaded it into Windows. A hotkey was available to easily switch between the two layouts, which was fantastic. Then I hit a huge snag: basically every single game automically seems to revert to standard QWERTY layout, and there's nothing I can do to ce it otherwise.

If someone could tell me a way to stop reverting, or another keyboard program with profile hotkeys th will actually stick, then I would be so greful. I feel like I've fallen the last hurdle, and could be something th really helps me out.

I have a Iphone4
but when calling the micro sometimes stops working, so the other person doesn't hear me any more.
I wanted to connect to itunes but
when i connect to a computer (tried a couple pc's and a mac)
the phone is charging, but my computer doesn't find the iphone (doesn't show up in My Computer).

used to work bee,
and when i plug in my old iphone the computer finds it without a problem.

I removed itunes and installed it again.
I did the resets (7 sec and 20 sec) but nothing seems to work!


Wh to do?

I guess it's a hardware defect,
if i turn it in they can see it's jailbroken (i can not reset it cause i can not sync).

Can i try 'Reset all settings' and hope they do not see it?

Guys whenever I turn off my monitor, and turn on again after a few minutes, there's no signal in the monitor. And also whenever I turn off the monitor, there's a sound similar to the one whenever we used to plug out or plug in a device. problem is happening to me since the last 3 days. I check the dvi cable and change it but still the problem persists. And if I want to see the display,all I have to do is plug out the dvi cable either from the display card or from the monitor.

And also problem happens now when I installed the display driver but there's not a single problem bee if the driver is installed, I already tried installing the previous drivers and also the lest one b ut still the problem is there. I am using a Radeon HD 6870 graphics card and a Samsung Syncmaster B2230 Monitor. So anybody faced problem bee please help me. I don't know wh to do.

Hello, I just tempted flashing the bios on my 6950. The flash went through but upon restart the card failed to boot. I went ahead and flipped the bios switch, and it started booted up. I loaded up the stock bios I had saved bee and switched the bios switch back to 1. Flashed the stock bios, reset. It boots up fine now but it keeps crashing during benchmarks and sometimes during the windows boot up screen. I get the BSOD on half of the crashes, other times it just freezes.

Did I damage my card? Also its running on stock clocks 810/1250 @ 1.1v

It's an asus 6950 DCUII
