I can't seem to find any other people on here having issue but when I am using earbuds/headphones, if the little pin is not in the headphone port hole JUST right all the sound cuts out. Music/Movie still plays, but no sound comes out, not from the speaker OR the earbuds. I have tried several earbuds/headphones just to make sure it wasnt' the little pin part, and it's definitely in the port. I am taking it to the Apple Store tonight but is th something th is easily and quickly fixed? Can they pop it right out and replace it?

Yes... believe it or not I am still running iOS 4.1 on my iphone 4 I purced in November 2010..lol. I know ALOT about iphone reled things and I am running a jb device via greenpoison and have PKGBackup installed along with Drop Box to back up all my apps. The only thing is I am extremely unsure and nervous about how to upgrade to 4.3.5 and still be able to keep my apps and tweaks I have installed.

I ABSOLUTELY love the way my device is set up now and I fear losing th or facing compibility issues with my jailbreak apps/tweaks.

Can someone please tell me or direct me to a walk thru on how to restore, rejailbreak and load my back up of EVERYTHING I have running on 4.1 onto 4.3.5?

Currently a BlackBerry user with a personal web domain th uses POP email. Obviously I have instant email with BIS. Without configuring my POP to route and ward thru another system such as Google etc., is there any improvement (push) with the nive email client a simple POP account or am I still dealing with a minimum of 15 minutes polling or manual refresh to get my messages?

I didn't want to necromize one of the other threads (especially as most had gotten off topic)

I picked up off of a newegg sale 15$ and finally got it up and running monday. It feels very much like the original mixed with some napoleon.

The only real thing th is buggin me is why the damned AI is so suicidal. I'm takeda and only a few turns in. I took shinobi the province north of my starter province and apparently th's the one th the AI is "oos I's gotta haves" because they keep throwing army after army after it and I keep repelling it.

Fine, repell army, send out army to tack their province to give me time to rebuild ces only to find...there's nothing but retainers in their cities.

So the AI literally sent every single unit to go tack my second province and left nothing behind just in case they lost. (shoot even if they won wh was stopping me from going the back way to take their empty province?)

I seriously don't remeber any previous total war (and I've played them all) making such a big mistake.

re all I have to do is defend > send cleanup ce to capture province repe th several times and I'll have won by default.

I'll try upping the difficulty but seems more like a flaw then a setting. Upping the difficulty only makes the btles harder, not the AI actions.

anyone else notice ?

I have a portable DVD player with inbuilt TV tuner which is not working. I think the motherboard is damaged. But I am very much sure th the 7" LCD screen of the player is perfectly fine. Can anyone suggest me or help me how to make use of the monitor other purpose like using it to wch television through an external tv tuner or converting it to a digital photo frame or whever it can be worth.

Hi All

I recently got two of these drives
Seage Barracuda LP 2TB ST2000DL003 Hard Drive
and set them up in Raid 0 with Intel RST (on a P67 mobo using the P67 PCH)

Obviously I put them on the Sa 6gbps ports I don't have any other devices th can use them to their potential. Now bee you see the scores, I want to mention something else.

There seem to be more then a few cases of these hard drives bricking themselves after days/weeks/months and becoming undetectable BIOS. So I can't recommend the drives themselves. I bought them without doing enough research. Still, i will have my da backed up (most of it!) and can always RMA them if happens to me.

Still, here are my HD Tach results. is after dumping ~2gb onto the raid, I didn't test bee, unsure if it makes a difference:



Now th burst speed shouldn't even be possible! and the sustained is just amazing. Cool hey?

Just a heads up those of you who (like me) were beginning to fill 2tb. There are other options, and one looks good!

Bought these two as part of the Steam bundle today. Hitman 1 & 2, Kane & Lynch 2 all play fine with no issues.

Kane & Lynch 1 and Hitman:Blood Money however display really bad stuttering/frameskipping regardless of the in game settings/resolution/vsync on or off/d3doverrider. :banghead:

Any help would be apprecied :)

I bought yesterday card. It is passively cooled, but the hesink getting very hot (80 degree C on idle). I decided to underclock it in order to increase it lifespan.
Using RBE I downloaded and edit BIOS to setup lower clocks.
GPU stock clocks are as follows:
Idle 157/200
Under load 650/400
In RBE I put all modes to be 80/180.
The first tempt to flash failed. I messed around and managed to flash it through dos.

To my surprise the card continues to run on stock frequencies, while check bios through RBE indices th all modes retain 80/180.

trying to overclock the gpu card...using msi or calyst ...... the cor clock and mem clock both 300mhz...lets me change it but still only reads 300mhz....thinking the bios (if there is one in the card) is messed up....how can i reset it?

Right after th, i searched up to make sure it perfectly goes with my pc.
I found some s th tells me th my gtx 460 won't fit in the case.
But i also found people th tell th it will fit in the e520.

I'm kind of confused, the gpu & psu can arrive now any day so i'm kind of worried.
I already upgraded my gpu onec to a gece 9500gt pcie.
Gtx 460 is should be a PCIE too.

The gtx460 also takes 2 card slots. I'm going to open my case to see if it can fit my pc.

I'm using Nokia 5230 which symbian OS. But now everybody is saying th Android is better than symbian. Can anybody clear me ? I have only little info about android OS. So guys plz clear me few things::)

1) Android phones can be upgradeable? i mean most of phone v2.2, can it be upgraded to ler version?
2) Are androaid apps hackable, can it spread virus in phone? or it is virus free?
3) Wh is + and point of android over other OS mobile & tab?
4) Do it support multitasking? Wh is best hardware requirement smooth running?

hey guys trying to overclock mobo to 4ghz

After loading into bios...i notice my memory is 1033mhz when it should be 1600mhz and i also noticed the bios closes some options out me...when to an upded bios but its so dam confusing and idk if i want a beta one or not:banghead:

can anyone plz shoot me a link or help me out on wh bios to d/l an upde on ?? possible one th's already overclocked :)

note when i use the CD and the program @bios to upde from sever , it tries to upde a version f4 but it doesn't work says "runtime error" program c:/programfiles(x86)/gigabyte/@bios/gwflash.exe abnormal program terminion .......... right 100% weird....then i go to the and try the upde verF3 verf5 beta and says i don't have the right windows plz find out if you have windows 32bit or 64bit....

any help?? i have windows 7 ultime 64bit...and bios ver F2....

anyway to reset bios if i cant get it to upde?

I have scing the net a couple hs now looking drivers a Lenovo notebook th I've reloaded.

I cannot find anywhere on the Lenovo web th will let me download any useful drivers, the only thing I could manage is a auto upder th finds the serial number ok, then proceeds to tell me there is no such system or drivers:banghead: Windows upde managed to get the wireless working, but the audio, video, chipset etc is still a nogo.

Hopey someone can point me where I need to go?

My boss ordered an Asus Eee Sle tablet, I got to toy around with it and thought it was a pretty nice piece of hardware. Anyway, the only con with the thing is it a relively short btery life of 34 hs. He wanted to order a second AC adapter so he can leave one in the office and the other home. I tried googling it but can't really seem to find any legit looking place to order it from. Do I need to contact Asus and get it through them? Or does anyone know a place I can order one from?

hi, i've just having problem since a couple of days, first i chalked it up to XP getting corrupted and after a few reboots and a Last Known Good Config, it seemed to work fine, i even got to play Team tress 2 3 hs with no glitch. then after i started wching a video file, it started coming up with the BSoD (see title) everytime i would play the file it would BSoD on me. morning i couldn't get into XP all, it kept BSing on me.

i was convinced it was XP playing up. so i swapped to another older installion of XP on another drive and all went well, then i played the video file again and it BS'ed on me again. so i'm thinking it's not XP it's definitely somethng else. the MS web talks about RAM, so i thought one of the sticks have gone down. after elimining either stick and the slots, i concluded it's not the RAM, i'm still getting the BS.

could a virus cause something lile and infect both drives? i had both drives in the PC all i did was swap the boot HDD to get into my back up of XP.

i'm thinking of using another separe drive and installing XP again and seeing if it BSes on me during the install proceess.

any other ideas on wh causes ?

I have running iOS 5 b7 about 3 days now, and starting last night, apples weher app will not work. It would say "upde failed." So, i tried deleting all the cities I had and then tried readding them, and now it can't find any of the cities I had. Anyone else having issues with ? Is it a yahoo issue or a iOS 5 issue? Normally I wouldn't care about in iOS 4.2.10 (I have the verizon iP), but in iOS 5, I have started using the weher app again because of the addition of the notificion bar. Thanks any help.

When I turned on today, all da in 'c drive downloads' was lost but space alloced to them is still present and some applicions pinned in taskbar got unpinned. Mozilla's all da was also lost. I'm an avid whsapp user on my Galaxy S. However, everytime I send/receive whsapp messages, the phone just lags badly, even up to a point where I can't even type anything. Besides making the phone lag in general (have trouble opening up pics, etc), sometimes it even crashes whsapp itself! I notice th only applies to whsapp as if I have received text messages bee while typing up another message and no lag was experienced.

problem started when I first bought the phone v2.1. I initially thought it was the firmware version and have since upded it to v2.2. Untunely, the problem still persist. I've living with lag almost a year now and I have not reached the tipping point.

Can someone please help me solve problem?

Okay folks, here is my take on subject. I see people in here, on the street and even coming in my store complaining about btery, certain apps not working or something to th nure.

It to be "Operor Error"!!! I have 4 iphones and 2 ipads currently running on my personal Verizon account and I have several demos of each unit in my store. Each one of these devices run absolutely perfect as the day I cut the plastic off the boxes. The devices I have personal use are jailbroken, connected to wifi most of the day, bluetooth connected to my vehicles and so on...

The devices I have as demos my customers also run just as perfect. So the conclusion I have come to is of cse? "Operor Error". Since Verizon released the iPhone back in February, I can count on 1 hand just how many have returned because of malfunction: 4 Th's 4 devices returned in the 3 stores th I own since February. Now if I add up all the devices I've returned within th time frame : Android 26, Blackberry 19, Windows(too many to count) and WebOS(none because no one buys them). Those numbers speaks volumes. Th doesn't even count the returns I get from my web as well.

Conclusion, you have to do something totally insane to not have y IOS device to stop working. If y device is having problems? It prolly stopped working in "PROTEST"!!!

Hello guys, I am having some issues when I try to use my new Galaxy s2 to play videos on my xbox 360. When I connect to my pc the phone enters kies mode and I can browse save delete files as normal. When I connect to my xbox 360 it enters kies mode but I have some other issues.

On the 360 dashboard, entering the "pictures" and "music" entries shows the device under portable usb. I can view pictures and listen to music normally. However, when entering the "videos" directory on the dashboard the device does not show up all. Its very frustring since is how I wch most of my movies.

I have tried "usb debugging mode" to no success and am pretty confident th it isn't a video m issue as the films I am trying to view worked fine on my old blackberry. Any help you guys can give me would be gre. Thanks!

Hello. I have a Bulgarian SIM card (with roaming actived) and everything worked fine in Bulgaria. However, I went to Denmark. I switched the airplane mode on in the plane and when I turned th mode offf, I got the message 'emergency calls only', which prevents me from making any calls. I bought a Danish SIM card but I got the same message. I have another phone with me (some old Alcel) and both SIM cards work pretty fine there. Wh may cause problem?

Have an unhappy story...

I have a galaxy s gt i9000..... on oraange... upded with kies software to 2.3.3....

am planning to go to thai in 3 weeks.... needed the phon unlocked so i can put sim in when i get there....

2 1/2 months ago, i called orange and requested an unlock code... was charged 25 quid and received an email with an unlock code in it...... it didnt work... came up with network unlock request unsuccessful.... so i called them again,, and again,,, many times....
i received another email conaining the same unlock code... tried it... it failed... was a week ago ... 2 months after the first request....

I eventually got through to orange unlock team... was told to try the code mant times as it sometimes takes a long time code to work, and was told it must be the correct code as my phone was still working on orange and nor "bricked"

Lasr night, i s down and entered the unlovk code 300 times!!!!!! is true!! 300 times.... phone still works on orange.... still says network unlock request unsuccessful

Please can anyone help??? have gone through all the propper channels..... even called samsung who said its not their problem..

Hello mes :) Firstly I want to be excused my bad English :) . Well the problem is th when I start GPUz firstly there is no Memory Type showed ?! It stopped working today. Just with Firefox too, where it should be opening a link in a new tab. A new tab still appears in other browsers (Chrome, IE9) but not with Firefox (6.0.2). WTF happened?

I have using iPhones nearly 2 years now, and I am amazed on a daily basis how good they are. Even got myself an iPad.
The only thing the iPhone does not do th all my old Nokia"s did was tell me when someone I am calling is on the phone. The Nokia would say "Call Waiting" on the screen so I would know why they could not answer.

Is function available as a tweak somewhere, as I have looked and can't see it.

I know is an iPod touch um, but there wasn't a um the iPod shuffle, and I'm hoping you guys can help me out here.

I just purced an iPod Shuffle 4G today because I wanted something small to take with me when I go running instead of using my iPhone. So I go an plug it into my iTunes, register it, go through the setup process and sync a couple of playlist to it. I then was anxious to try out the VoiceOver feure on it .. went to try it, and instead of it telling me the playlist name, all it would say was "Playlist 1 ... Playlist 2 ... Playlist 3" ... So I did some research and found out th my iPod Shuffle is running software 1.0.1 (saw th in iTunes) and th the VoiceOver kit th y enables the VoiceOver feure is available with software upde to 1.1, however when I click on "Check Updes" in iTunes, it says th I am running the current software my iPod (which obviously isn't true).

In the summary page I'm supposed to have an option to select VoiceOver, but th's not available unless I have software 1.1 ... I'm not sure why iTunes isn't letting me upde the software so th I can enable feure. Does anyone have any ideas or suggestions?

If it helps ... I'm running one of the iTunes 10.5 betas (I believe beta 4). I was running iOS 5.0 beta on my iPhone and kept upding my iTunes as the releases came out, until I stopped with the iOS 5 and went back to 4.3.1 on my iPhone. However, my iTunes is still 10.5 beta 4 (I think th's the last upde I did), but I'm not sure if th would have anything to do with it. Thanks in advance!

Hi. First off, I'll just say th I found a wealth of info over the past few days reading over the posts on um, so thanks to all those who participed in those discussions and providing various points of view.

Please don't be put off by the size of post! I tried to structure it as best I could!

My budget is around 50k and it seems the best valuemoney + graphics yumminess price is the HP dv6 6121tx... or its siblings ie. 6017 & 6140.


My focus:

I need a durable laptop th will last me a good 4+ years as a desktop replacement. All my programming work, browsing and a bit of gaming will be done on it.

Gamingwise, I'd like to have a go a few juicy titles now & then. But 3D graphics development is something I will fool around with (hobby D3D11 or OGL4 development). And maybe I'd like something th, after 3 years, will play most games on medium.


Display:

I notice th one difference between the 6121 & 6140 is 1GB vs 2GB on the same GPU. How much of a difference will make?
Consider th in, say, a year if I become rich and want to get myself a nice 23+ inch monitor, and connect it to my laptop and use the bigger monitor(1900 x something res) as my primary/only display. Will affect the choice of laptop?
connecting a big monitor, is a HDMI thingy needed? I think only one of the models those, right?

The thought of possibly connecting an external monitor is wh is keeping me quiet about the laptop's 1333x768 display. And I also read here th the given display size & res, HP's screens look best.


CPU

The 6121 and its bros have a quad core processor. Is really an advantage or unnecessary? Do 4 cores offer anything significant over 2 cores?


The Overheing Fact/Hysteria:

On a thread about the 6017 (or was it 6140? sorry, inmion overload), I read th the heing issue was solved in newer models and the way to tell was by looking the serial number on the outside of the box.
Is there such a trick the 6121 as well?

And I really hope heing won't cause problems... sigh.. sorry, I know everyone who inquires about these laptops always say , but I just have to. is going to be my second EVER computer. (Currently on a P4 w/ 512 RAM, no discrete GPU.... go ahead... vomit! :D!).

And something about a BIOS upgrade too, I read. Is preinstalled in current models, or do I have to do somehow after purce?

I'm trying to work out wh is the problem with my Western Digital 1000Gb external harddisk.

I was running out of space and since I was storing some da a friend I theree off loaded it onto my friend's computer. The size of da was in the region of about 10Gb.

I then went and checked the space on my HD and things just didn't mch up, never mind the fact th I took off 10Gb of da and there was NOT 10Gb of space left.


First pic below shows the properties after right clicking on the drive icon. Wh I don't understand is, is where is the 69Gb but it also says th I only have 34.9Mb left.





second pic show the capacity after going into the drive, highlighting all files and again bringing up the properties. Here it tells me I am using 911/907Gb.




So, I don't understand how all these numbers add up, because they don't. Why am I getting wh seems to be random values?
Wh am I missing, wh can I do?

I've recently changed ISP's and router but its causing me problems with sending emails from Outlook.

The error message I am getting is.....

Sending' reported error (0x80042109): ' Outlook cannot connect to y outgoing (SMTP) emails server............

I've tried changing the port to 587 and unblocking it through the router (NetGear DGN100) But still no luck.

Any ideas?

Even as there are rumors th the launch of Opteron processors based on the Bulldozer architecture is imminent, there is news th AMD rescheduled the launch of its FX series permance desktop processors to October 2011, sces told Xbit Labs. The reasons the delay are known, but when the processors do come out, AMD wants to make sure th they target as many permance pricepoints as possible, and so the first wave of FX processors will include 7 models, th's f 8core FX8000 series chips, one 6core FX6000 series chip, and two 4core FX4000 series chips.

The first wave is going to include the 3.60 GHz FX8150, the 3.10 GHz FX8120 th will be available in 95W and 125W variants, and 2.80 GHz FX8100 eightcore models; 3.30 GHz FX6100 sixcore model; 4.20 GHz FX4170 and 3.60 GHz FX4100 quadcore chips. As you can see, AMD does seem to have tweaked the clock speeds of some of the models compared to older clock speed tables by other sces. The GAMSH61DI is designed extremely compact miniITX cases, th are thinner than the rear panel of X/ITX mfactors, and allinone PCs. The board draws power from an external power brick through a 12V DC input jack, the board then gives out SA and Molex power via cables. It ses socket LGA1155 "Sandy Bridge" Intel Core i3/i5/i7 processors with a maximum TDP of 95W.

The CPU socket is powered by a 3pe VRM. The processor is backed by Intel H61 Express chipset. It is wired to two angled DDR3 SODIMM slots th can hold up to 8 GB of dualchannel DDR31333 MHz memory. There are no perpendicular expansion slots, but there's one mSA slot th can hold an SSD, an mPCIe th can hold a wireless networking card, and an LVDS (lowvoltage differential signaling) slot th can be used devices such as VGA connections to LCD panels. The H61 chipset gives out two SA 3 Gb/s ports apart from the mSA slot.



While there is an 8channel HD audio CODEC, there isn't enough room audio jacks. So there's one 3.5 mm linein, and a TOSLINK connector th gives out 7.1 channel digital audio. There's also a 2channel HDA frontpanel header. There are two USB 3.0 ports and two USB 2.0 ones on the rear panel, two more ports via headers, and one gigabit Ethernet connection. The sole display output is an HDMI 1.4 connector. There's no word on the pricing.

Sometimes when viewing a webpage in Safari on y iDevice, you can have trouble reading the font and possibly even squint. All of us have experienced one way or another and can rele to issue. Some have resorted to the "easy" solution by just zooming on the page. Although is somewh of a fix, zooming in takes you away from the entire page itself thus kind of ruining the easy viewing experience. Am having trouble finding a blue tooth ear piece th will works well with voice activition dialing with my SII

With the nokia 8GB all I did was press the button on the ear piece and I could say the cleints name and it would repe and then dial the number..

With the SII I have to actually use/touch/read the mobile to which we are not allowed to do here in Western Australia while driving (new rule).. is there anyway around or is there a ear piece th will bypass function or even away to stop the SII using the it??

3. Since, I am not buying graphics card now, so will Intel integred HD Graphics 3000 be able to handle little bit of graphics work in photoshop and gaming low mid settings on my 17 inch monitor?
Want to play games like gta 4 and other old titles.......

After buying all the top of the line components (see specs), it's the most defective, unresponsive, and dysfunctional PC I have ever used.

Freezes up
booting to windows sometimes does not work
can't open my games some odd reason
ram is reading 1333Mhz instead of 1600Mhz
some files are corrupt?! in my system
disc stops spinning in my NEW optical drive
and a whole plethora of other things
windows is telling me th google chrome is a corrupted file?!

It seems the driver of graphic cause the error and my card is HD6450.

My first was an allacrylic monster cube case called Onyx (check the worklog and finished pics here), and I loved it but it turned out to be just too damned big. I have a history with th. I have a woodshop and loved working with acrylic so I thought I'd combine the two into a lowkey case th still draws the eye and makes people say wow. The design is solid, and I think it will be a beauty when it's done. Hope you'll stick around and wch it grow.

Undoubtedly, the number one complaint people have with the Mail.app on any iDevice is th you can't tach and send files. There are ways to send pictures and videos, however other than th, you're stuck with no functionality in th regard. A recently released tweak in Cydia, called Anytach, gives the user functionality to add files to y emails. Not only does it support pictures and videos, but it supports any type of file.

With Anytach installed, inside an email composition window, a paper clip button appears on the subject line. When you tab th button, it brings up an

I can't get a theme with icons to work on my phone. I've tried about f different themes, moved them to the top of winterboard, but I can't get the themed icons to replace the stock icons. Any ideas on how to fix?

I changed to the longer password on my ipad2 on Sunday. I had to retype it so you know it was correct. I used it 2 more x on Sunday and it worked. I did not use my ipad again until today and it says my password is incorrect. NOW the problem. If I restore, I loose everything I have because I found out tonight th it not backed up since June 27th when I got it. I sync it every night but there are no backups ded since 6/27.

I have tried everything. I know the password. No one touched it but me. I can prove I am the owner. Have my salesslip and box.

Just upded to the new app and went to tag a friend in a post and it doesn't show up. I changed the audience setting and it works. Anyone know of a way to change the default audience setting so you don't have to do it every time you want to tag a friend in a post?

My Roomme a... pretty medicore setup, an hlon 64 X2 7850, 2GB DDR2800 and a Radeon HD 6670 1GB GDDR5 but he REALLY wants to play Deus Ex: Human Revolution, can he run it? The Minimum requirements are a 4850 which, in raw power is better than the 6670 but he is using a 1920x1080 23" monitor so the 1GB of GDDR5 should help out compared to the 512MB of DDR3? All he wants to do is be able to play it, he says he's ok with the minimum setting. I could lend him some RAM....

I've tried researching through the ums, I've found a lot of people with the same issue as me but there are no solutions posted. My apologies If covered under another topic, I did try to search it.

My issue is th when I use Greenpois0n, or redsn0w to jailbreak my verizon iPhone, it says it is successful but it boots to the itunes screen. I have a macbook, Verizon iphone 4, with 3.2.1 installed on it. The newest version of itunes. I tried using Greenpoison RC5 and RC6, tempted to use redsnow 0.9.8rc8. everything says its successful but no luck on the boot. I Have tempted and restored the iphone 4 times already, and each time I try greenpoison I make sure to delete the old files loced in s/macos.

Will Ultrasn0w 1.2.3 install successy on an iPhone4 running 4.3.3(8J2) on baseband 04.10.01? I know th bb is not supported right now, but if th was the case, wouldn't ultrasn0w fail during the installion?

I don't have any microsims to test with, but Cydia says ultrasn0w is installed. Is there a way to test the unlock without another sim?

Hi all

New to the um, got a E7 replacement my N900, and I have to say the transition to Symbian n't too bad!

However I did run into problems installing the Anna upde, and had to reset my phone losing all the lovely default Nokia photos th are gre as wallpapers. (I believe N8 and E7 have the same/similar photos)

I know a few are available from the Ovi Store, but if anyone wouldn't mind emailing/uploading all of them I'd grely apprecie it.

I want to get a sound card. I'm in the process of looking and researching, but my question is wh kind of card should I get: PCI or PCIEx1? I'm asking because I am running 2 card in xfire already x8/x8 on a Asus P67 Pro. I don't know if adding a PCI or PCIEx1 will affect th all. So since I don't know, I'd love to have some insight as to the best way to go about . Specs on the side.

And if you're feeling good, I'm open to suggestions on a decent sound card, under ~$70. As I said, I'm in the research pe so suggestions are welcomed. Thanks

my camera takes video in the huge m of quick time, my old nokia n85 had a programme th reduced the size of the files massively bee uploading them to my phone, the sg s2 just seems to be a drag and drop and all ths doings is swallowing up all my memory, any programmes to reduce the size of the files please

in january of year i purced a powercolor HD6970 but from getting it i was getting high temps , after i returned it rma i got it back with no fault found . i then got in touch with powercolor to see wh the max safe temp was , the reply i got was try not to let it go above 95c and i could replace the Tim as long as it was the same col as the stock paste . i replaced it with mx4 which dropped the temps by upto 10c , only problem was it did not last long and i had to redo it . so i set a fan profile up in afterburner and a few weeks ago i decided to buy a second 6970 , managed to get a mching stock 6970 which i was lucky to get it as they sold fast . one thing i did notice with the new powercolor 6970 is it runs a lot cooler than my other powercolor 6970 with the same ref cooler , also noticed the bios was newer so here is my question lol .
can a bios make a 6970 run cooler with it running the same fan speed as my older card ? , pics below of the 2 in gpuz

i have also replaced the mx4 with a different TIM and the temps are even better

hey everyone,
got a new gpu which is the ASUS 6950 directcu2 and i would just like to say it is ****ing HUGE compared to my 9600.
but now to the problem is wh i did:
uninstalled all my drivers through device manager and program uninstall.
turned off computer, removed old gpu and installed the new one.
turned my computer on, i got a long beep and 2 short beeps and no display all. (ive researched a bit about the beep code, "graphics card error")
i also have tried reseting my cmos and th didnt work.

when i put my old 9600gt card in everything works fine so i think my new gpu is faulty?
