Hi folks,

is my first post on Digit um.
I'm on the lookout the best possible laptop(in terms of config, build quality and service) myself to be purced by December.

Here, I've filled up the questionnaire(with inline answers) :

1) Wh is y budget? (INR or USD)
INR 3040k...hopey shouldn't exceed !
2) Wh size notebook would you prefer?
Mainstream; 15" 16" screen
3) Which country will you buying notebook? Also ste th if Amazon.com or Newgg.com ships to y country (Only if you know info).
India

4) Are there any brands th you prefer or any you really don't like?
a. Like:Toshiba,Asus,Dell
b. Dislike:Acer


5) Wh are the primary tasks will you be perming with notebook?
Multimedia,programming and modere gaming(COD,Btlefield,MOH,etc.,@medium settings )
6) Will you be taking the notebook with you to different places, leaving it on y desk or both?
Both, but mostly on desk

7) Will you be playing games on y notebook? If so, please ste which games or types of games?

3 hrs on an average should do fine

My motherboard is Intel DQ 45 original mother board .. on board sound is very gre when i am using creive SBS A200, but when i am using i ball i630MV headphones volume is too low. so i want to buy new headphones and as well as sound card below Rs.1500. so please suggest A good sound card and Headphones which will give high volume and quality...

Hi,

I've got a big problem with my HD6950, I have done some faulty BIOS flashes and now my PC won't start. It won't get past the BIOS (of the motherboard). Since it wont start with my HD6950 in it i cant flash a default BIOS on to the HD6950. I also lost my BIOS backup because my computer crashed (i was trying to install Android x86) and i lost all my da on the harddisk.

Then there's another problem, i also flashed my default BIOS mode, the switch number 2 on my HD6950. So is there any way i can restore my BIOS. I also read on the um th switch number 1 (one) or 2 (two) is blocked of BIOS flashing.

So please can anyone help me!!?

Gigabyte Z68APD3
Club3D HD 6950 2048MB.

I got my PC up and running again via my internal GPU (of my i5). But it still won't start with my HD6950 in it. Is it maybe a solution to make a usb DOS bootable and via th flash my card to the Club3D HD6950 BIOS from TPU dabase?

anyone else noticed ?

I can set my SGSII to be a WiFi Hotspot, and another device, (eg PC or another Android phone) can connect to it via WiFi and get access to Internet over the SGSIIs 3G da connection.

Then it's easy to connect another device, via Wifi, to the SGSII. But then it stops working.

Neither of the tached devices gets access to the Internet.

Also, in th ste, when turning off the SGSIIs Hotspot it shows an Error stus.

[Mob] Recent call list starts in the middle

Hi all,

I've noticed weird issue only recently.
When I open my recent call list, it always starts up in the lower middle part of the list. Which is very annoying because if I need to check/dial my last dialed/missed number, I need to scroll all the way up to the top of the list where the most recent call is.
becomes even more annoying when the list gets really long.

If I leave the Phone app opened in background, next time I go back to it, it remembers of cse.
But when I close the Phone app, then open it again, the issue happens.

I think I started to notice issue after upgraded to 4.3.5 (Not 100% sure though).

I've tried to clear the recent call list, same thing.

I've done some Googling and lots of people are having th same issue without any solution to fix it.

Why does it come up only recently?
Is there anyone here experiencing th issue?
Is there a fix it?

I am using iOS 5 b7 and my push notificions have stopped working with FB Messenger. is a big deal me because I basically use FB Messenger to text when work since I don't get any signal in my office, only WiFi. Thanks. I would gladly take any tips on how to fix too. I have checked all of my setting twice, and notificions are turned on.

Here are the first pictures of ASUS' lest gaming desktop under its premium Republic of Gamers banner, the ROG CG8565. black beauty is sculpted with the typical "edgy" design th found on recent ROG products. The case no windows, but its design is enough to be an eyeballmagnet LAN parties. The case looks wellventiled with its intricelydesigned vents on its top and sides. The front door slides down revealing the front panel, with two USB 3.0 ports, two USB 2.0 ports, audio, multim card reader, a Bluray ROM + DVDRW combo drive, and a 3.5inch SA hard drive hotswap bay. The ROG logo glows red when the system is powered on.

Under the hood, the ROG CG8565 is a Sandy Bridgepowered system. It is driven by an Intel Core i72600K quadcore processor, th's overclocked out of the box 4.20 GHz. A NVIDIA Gece GTX 590 dualGPU graphics card is incharge of graphics. An ASUS Xonar DX handles 7.1 channel sound. In terms of storage, a RAID 0 array of two 80 GB SSDs holds the opering system, while there are two 1 TB hard drives storage, which can either be run as nonRAID disks or clubbed into RAID 0 or 1 modes. I have sold my G. skill Pi on ebay and i have a small box im going to ship the memory in, however i dont have the clam shell the memory came in anymore, and i dont have anymore anti stic bags. I do have paper. Would it be already right wrap the memory models with paper??? then fill the box with paper as the cushioning?

I'm currently working on designing an app wardrobe advice/clothes shopping aide. However, it's an app th we want to aim both a male and female audience. Now, me (being female) designing a fashion reled app geared towards women is a bit easier, but I don't want to exclude men.

Wh are some ways I can make sure I'm not excluding th audience? All I can think of is to make sure th app is not pink or purple in color.

Hello all

I'm trying to setup my new Nokia E500 to use my companies microsoft exchange email. It was explained to me th it would work just like the windows based HTC snap th I had previously.

I've followed the email setup by entering my email address, password and choosing 'Mail Exchange'. The phone connects and then tells me the certifice a different name. I tell it to 'accept time only'. I then enter my user name and domain on the next screen. On the screen after th I choose wh to sync calendar, contacts and todo notes. I then tell it to keep synced da on phone and it crees the mailbox.

After th I tempt to send an email. The exchange server appears to be contacts because a 'mail exchange upding' message appears when i choose send and receive. The same message appears when I choose synchronize. I know it's connecting to the internet because I'm able to access s through the browser.

The mail I send sits in the outbox and never goes anywhere.
Messages sent to my email are not received and contacts are not synced from the server.

If anyone can help me it would be much apprecied.

In summary:
  • Exchange email isn't working can anyone tell me wh I'm doing wrong?
  • I'm depending on the phone to sync contacts from the exchange server to fill up my contact list why isn't happening?

[Tech] HDD clicking issue (not dead it seems)

OK, I have a little issue. We just bought an MSI CX623 as a general use laptop. The problem is, th the HDD clicks when it's in use (read/write), and I had it freeze on me one time. I've ran the S.M.A.R.T. test on Western Digital Da Lifeguard, and most of the values are above the threshold, so it shows a 1 under warranty. Is th grounds to get a replacement from the store, or should I run the extended test first? I've never had to deal with a clicking (but still working 95% of the time) drive... most of the clickers I've dealt with were dead...

Hey guys, When I've built rig, I bought a 2nd hand 5.1 speaker kit from my friend...

And now, it's starting to fall apart... 1 of the speakers stops working randomly... The subwoofer seems to be cheap... It's got lots of power but as soon as you turn it up, u get more of a thunder sound than a crisp loud bass feeling...

So I'd like some advise and links to 5.1 speaker kits th are really good. I've looking @ different models and I'm really not an expert, so I'd apprecie y input.

Here's wh I do MAINLY with my speakers:

Play games on the computer
Wch movies on the computer.

And , I want to be able to crank the volume up "Without having to be scared, I'm gonna break the speakers" (don't worry I don't mean Cranking it up all the way... just louder...)

hi
i have a MSI gtx580. during gaming loads, the game hangs after some time.
the clocks of the card are set to 51/102/135 (these are the idle clocks of gtx580) and these can not be changed by again applying load or using afterburner. only a complete restart makes the clocks normal.

the games run fine some time and then they crash. but only the games crash. the OS is otherwise fine.

the crash can be tened by
1. applying more load. example in crysis 2 @ highest setting, crash comes within a minute. in other "light" games, the crash time is higher.

2.overclocking and overvolting the card( to very sane amounts)

the temps are within limit all times, as monitored by AB.

system config:
intel C2Q Q6600 @ stock
msi p35 neo
2GB ram
corsair tx750.
and all on a fresh windows install with lest driver/updes/BIOS.

Hopeless Romantic is lost in a haze and looking to sing a long with my collection of soft rock but trouble remembering the lyrics. I sit here in front of my 32" HDTV in my shorts listening to Stephen Bishop's One More Night in my AC/DC Highway to Hell TShirt turned to complete mush by a beautiful girl I hung out with the other night. I got a little bit buzzed after only 3 Budweisers (Pitiful) and really can't remember a lot of wh I said. I was introduced to her by a friend from work and handed a gre scoring opportunity (I really didn't want to say th but it fits the analogy) and much like the Cowboys fumbled the ball in the redzone. hi
i have window7,32 bit.recently ,i was having error of fal error c000021a after pc turned off directly.using boot disk i restored the corrupt "software" file in system32/config folder with a backup.after th pc started fine but i am getting error "16 bit MSDOS Subsystem The NTVDM CPU encountered an illegal instruction." right after logon..i think there are some other corrupt file also.
i have ran chkdsk /r .using google i found out th it is reled to Autoexec.nt and Config.nt but i havened dealt with them bee. can you guide me to the right direction?

Researchers have found th cyber thieves cree commonly misspelled domains and usernames email addresses. Wh means is when you make a mistake in spelling the name of the intended recipient's email address, it could end up in the inbox of a cyber thief instead of just bouncing back to you. Investigors looking into have grabbed 20GB from over 1,20,000 wrongly sent emails in the past six months. Of cse, some of the intercepted emails contained prive inmion like usernames and passwords, as well as prive corpore inmion.
Usually, it's companies th fall victim to practice. When a company one domain their web and multiple domains their individual business units, they tend to differentie between domains with the use of dots. So instance, a multinional television company in the US would have the email address us.company.com, while in India they might have company.india.com. If a sender messes up the placement of the dots and the order of the words, chances are, the email will end up in the hands of thieves.


Some tackers th are actually clever will go unnoticed by being a middle man. The obvious way such a practice would be caught would be th recipients keep reporting th they're not receiving emails intended them, but senders aren't getting emails bounced back. As the title says, while I was copying some media over from my main PC to my server it was copying 11mb/s and causing massive game lag... My ping in WoW spiked to 1000ms. and my internet was slow to load webpages. Once the copying stopped everything turned back to normal... Is there a way to fix ?

My PC is on port 1 on the switch (Netgear FS105 10/100 5 port) I have which then connects to my router (Thomson TG782T) via 40m ethernet cable run through the roof into the router room, the router then goes out to the internet.

i have installed amd overdrive 3.2 and already tried 4.0.4(lest)i am having the same problem with both of them.overdrive shows my vcore as 1.4@ load and 1.025 @ idle and temperure as 51C @ idle also wrong NB voltage readings(1.1V) but my actual values are 0.864@idle,1.25@ load(which i set in my bios) and temperure idle @3738C and load @ 5657C and NB volt is 1.275V.why overdrive is showing wrong readings when it shows other readings correctly.

Note:I used cpuz,hw monitor and hwinfo knowing correct readings.i have tached a screen shot.

okay, many of you might remember the utter confusion th I was in buying a new phone.

Finally I decided to stretch my budget by 3.5k and make no compromises so got LG Optimus 2x from letsbuy using a coupon code 23,5k. using it 45 days now. Here's the review:

1. Box s
basically everythingcharger, USB cable, HDMI cable, pretty decent inear earphones, case, and the screen guard already fixed onto the screen. Guess I wont have to buy anything else (except 32GB SD card) one!

2. Build Quality, Screen
Superb. Looks gre and feels sturdy. Not an enormous size like S2 or Sension. Screen is awesome and really feels amazing when set to brightness, but less than half brightness setting is enough. Pretty responsive.

3. UI
Gre UI, not better than HTC Sense but still, I'll say better than TouchWiz. Graphics and HD videos look gre and there is no lag while seeking HD videos. Phonebook, music player, radio etc are all typical Android stuff (which means good). One special mention should go to how the apps are organised. Y downloads are under a different label, so its v. easy to identify the apps th you'll want most of the time. Some LG widgets are also good, but not something amazing.
I dont use Facebook/Twitter apps made by LG, rher use the standard ones from Android market, feel it more functionality.
Onscreen keyboard is pretty responsive and thanks to the screen este, there is rarely a typo.

4. Audio Quality
One of the most important things me. It sounds amazing when connected to an external speaker. I actually acted as the DJ in one of the parties yesterday and thing played music a long time, with no btery or audio issues.
When connected to the headset, it is still gre, but not as amazing as external. If you set the equalizer presets to something like "Rock" or "Bass", it sounds good then (I am saying since I listen to heavy metal). But still, I am happy with the audio quality. I compared the quality with a friend's Desire S and O2X pwns it without even trying :mrgreen:
The audio quality became good to gre when I connected it to a friend's Sennheiser earphones.

5. Camera
Still pics are awesome. Flash is pretty capable. The camera UI is simple, but many technical options confuse you if you go deep. HD videos are good, but I cant comment more on th since I dont have an HD TV. It looks good on my laptop screen though!

6. Btery
Another major considerion. Simply put gre btery life, which exceeded my expections ;) With all the updes running in the background, I got a day (13 hrs) of btery backup, with 20% still remaining. With updes off, it gave me 14 hrs and ~40% remaining. Good by Android standards I believe...correct me if I am wrong.

7. Gaming
No lag all, excellent graphics output. Have nothing more to say since I havent played much on one.

My verdict (if it mters! :mrgreen:)
Excellent buy the price, no apparent problems, gre overall permance. Highly recommended! :thumbs:

Intel is in no mood to settle down its highend client solidste drive (SSD) lineup, the company is preparing a new line of SSDs in the 2.5inch SA 6 Gb/s mfactor th succeeds the SSD 510 Series. Called the SSD 520 Series, the new line consists of various size options th didn't exist with SSD 510 Series, improvements in permance and price per gigabyte, and a few new feures. While the SSD 510 is available only in two sizes (capacities): 120 GB and 250 GB, SSD 520 Series comes in a lot more: 60 GB, 120 GB, 160 GB, 240 GB, and 480 GB. It's as if Intel is taking Sandce SF22xx SSDs headon each pricepoint.

Sequential and random access permance figures are known to vary between different models (capacities) with Intel SSDs, but there's one set of them th we have in hand, perhaps it's of the fastest model: up to 530 MB/s read, 490 MB/s write sequential permance; and 40,000 IOPS reads and 45,000 IOPS writes random permance. SSD 520 Series drives make use of 25 nm MLC NAND flash memory, and a complete feureset today's client SSDs: TRIM, SMART, NCQ, and ACS2 compliance. The drives are red with 1.2 million hs MTBF, can opere between 0 and 70°C, and withstand up to 2.7 G (RMS) vibrion. Hello guys,

is regarding some recent experiences I had!! I promise will be interesting and evoke y curiosity!

I was almost about to buy a Lenovo Z series laptop but stopped due to bad colors available in th store (only color available was ugly Navy blue or Light purple o.0).

Then, I came to know th my mama is coming from USA. So I had an idea to browse around the amazon usa laptop prices. Holy %&^*!!!!! I was flabbergasted to compare the thinkpad prices in USA and India unbelievable!

Now I had to inquire about a few issues bee I told my mama to bring the laptop down from USA to India. One of them is warranty extension and if internional warranty is available.

And today I called Lenovo all day. Different number, different web s actually infinite numbers infinite webs all products........
It is a F%^%& MESS trust me......it seems like lenovo customer support is a big joke.......

Jis bhi toll free number pe call karo vo doosre department ka number de deta tha. More than once.....ek department ne dosre department to call karne ko kaha aur dosre department ne vapis pechle department ko call karne ko keh dala (Line switching is not available in Lenovo offices ....... can you believe th)

Ok yeh to kuch bhi nahi hai....bahut baar to aisi number mile jo mashallah chalte hi nahi.......wtf!!!!

Till now inspite of whole day of eft I can not get the inmion warranty extension Thinkpad Edge series.......

now the problem is i cant find graphic card in dxdiag,(desktopright click/screen resolution advanced setting/)....there it dose not show nvdia.
other things are fine it shows in device manager,
the settings are all clear,bios settings are also clear,tried almost every thing regarding software

Hello, a while since i've posted on here but i'm in kind of a bind. I just recently setup my house so th everything is gigabit, all C6 cables tested out 1000mbps and routers and switches are all gig as well. However my main pc a gig card built into it, a Marvell Yukon 88E8053 PCIE Gigabit Ethernet Controller but it will only detect 100mbps and even if i ce it to 1000mbps it still will only work 100mbps.

When i do ce 1000mbps the link lights are completely dead and it's acting as if there is no cable connected, but will work 100mbps duplex just fine... I'm a loss here. :banghead:

If anyone an idea as how to fix it would be welcome :)

The driver version is 11.41.3.3 btw.

My iphone seems to believe th the headphones are perpetually in the jack.

If I reboot the phone it still thinks my headphones are in. If I put headphones into the jack then take them out then it STILL thinks they are still in.

Restore didn't help either.

Anyone know wh might be wrong? I'm afraid I will just have to use the speaker phone ever.

[Mob] iPhone 3G

I received an iPhone 3G from a friend th deactived, restored to manufacture settings, running firmware 4.2.1, and nonjailbroken. Wh I'm finding is th I cannot turn the phone on/off with the sleep/wake button. I can press it down but I never get the off slider button on the screen. is making it extremely hard me to get the phone into DFU mode. I've got an &T sim card on the way to get me past activion since I'm going with a different carrier.

Does anyone have any suggestions on how I can get past the nonfunctional power button?

[Mob] syncing a new iPhone(4) with a backup of an old jailbroken one (3G)

Very basic, but then I know very little. Question: I have just downloaded the lest version of iTunes and I'm ready to sync in my brand new iPhone. However, I temporarily had a jailbroken one (with Cydia installed on it), so the last back up profile I'd synced into iTunes had the jailbreak on. Will be transferred onto my new phone? I really don't want th to happen btw... Thanks!!
