I can confirm to you th the gevey unlock sim workson iOS 5 beta 7 IF the baseband IS PRESERVED 4.10.01 My guess is th all the future updes and maybe official will be compible with the Gevey sim cards IF the baseband is preserved.

Can anyone suggest a good starting book learning the basics of IOS 4 developing apps the Iphone? I have using Visual Studio developing apps the PC using C++ and C# 15 years and I find the IOS plm completely eign to me. Actually, I feel stupid as I cannot seem to get the hang of developing views. The language seems very obtuse to me and I need to wrap my mind around the whole concept of IOS development. I have using the book by the Big Nerd Ranch and also Fundamentals of IPhone Development by Mt Neuberg and I find th using their examples sometimes leads to compiler errors th I cannot correct. Any advice is apprecied.

OK, so my sisters iPod Touch 3G a screen issue.
Whenever I power it on, it's fine (it's running 4.2.1, originally ran 3.1.3). But I turn the screen off and then turn it on again, all the pixels are white.
I can still interact with it (turn it off etc.) but with a white screen completely.
I've tried restoring but th doesn't do anything.
I think it may be hardware failure because she didn't use it 4 months because I got a 4G Touch.
Any questions?
(I've got a Genius Bar appointment 12:10 PM GMT time tomorrow so hurry up! :D )

[Tech] Finnalising pc build: which psu to use?

I'm finalising a build one of my neighbs. The pc base we're using was handed down to one of my friends and was a pc used in an office. Currently it a suntex 300w psu with the following specs and is ded dec 2001:

+12v 16a
12v 0.8a
+5vsb 2a
5v 0.5a
+5v 30a
+3.3v 22a

I have a 250w psu from 2007 (only lightly used) th I was thinking of putting in as i'm concerned a 10 year old psu might blow up especially since it was used in an office environment so was probably always on. Anyway here's the specs:

+12v 15a
12v 0.5a
+5vsb 2a
5v doesn't say
+5v 16a
+3.3v 20a

So wh psu would you guys put in? The older one is better but it is probably rubbish now due to aging.

Is there anyway of stopping my phone from only displaying web pages in mobile m, With my old HTC there was a setting to switch between mobile and standard page m, I tried putting "about:debug" into the browser which gave me some more advanced options in the settings menu and selected normal rendering bade made no difference, Could it be an APN settings issue ?

I decided to make a thread to show off everything I have. Sure, there are many much better products available but these are the best in my friends circle and relives :P :) And also, my computer may not be as "monster" as of many others, but its still the best computer I have used till now.. :))

From long time I wanted a cabinet with lights but I was unable to get LED fans locally and I dont want to go very far. So, after thinking a lot, I got an idea about having LEDs in cabinet itself rher than in fans. is both, my "2days timepass" and something th looks nice n I wanted.

does anybody know of any Twitter app th will sync the timeline between iOS and my windows laptop? as far as I can tell, noone yet adopted the new tweetmarker any pc version of twitter as yet. I would love to switch from my iPhone version of twitter to my laptop version of twitter, and it remember where I was up to on my timeline.

I've getting these BSOD a few months random intervals and I can't figure why. Sometimes it'll be a week or more without getting a BSOD, and sometimes I'll get 45 BSODs in a single day. It only happens when I'm surfing the web, never while playing a game. Since these started, I've replaced my motherboard(wanted a P45 board anyway, I didnt replace the board because of these BSODs), uninstalled my SSD(the BSODs started just after I got it. Currently I'm running my 7200.12 drive as my OS drive, SSD is disconnected), done two fresh installs in windows, tested my RAM with memtest86 (16 passes no errors), reduced/removed OC. The BSODs happen reguardless of wh I've done. Also, whether my CPU is running 4ghz load Crunching or idle and underclocked to 2.4ghz doesn't seem to mter. It to be either BIO's (which I highly doubt) or hardware reled as I got a BSOD yesterday while in the process of doing a rem(in the setup stage while selecting wh drive to m, I hadn't actually started rem). Check my system specs computer's hardware. Current OC is listed in provided pic.




Please help me figure out wh is wrong. If my computer a BSOD in the middle of doing my college assignments and have to start over again, I swear I'll put my foot right though the middle of it. :mad:

Hi I have a SGS and some nice peeps work tried to get onto my phone but they locked it by trying to guess the ptern to many times.

I have sced the net solutions and have tried these

I have tried calling from another phone and press the back key. No joy
Factory reset. No Joy
Pressing the buttons like a mad man. No Joy
Swopping SIM cards. No Joy
Youtube signing on. No Joy
Pressing the microphone button. No Joy

Now I've found um and wonder if anyone can offer anymore advice

I've noticed th since beta 2, sound quality when docked (via cable/legacy docking stion/nive speaker stion) on speakers is drastically reduced, especially the basses sounding more like Nazgül. When I plug via jack, the sound quality's fine. I know it's not my ipod, my me's one is doing the same thing. I've tried multiple speakers, and I get the same result every time. Am I the only one, or is known ?

Hey Guys I have N8 and was using it past 8 months without any problem and was very happy with th.


One week ago I was in my office...The WiFi network of my office was on and th's why my phone was showing th there is a few updes available my handset ......So I went further and started upding my device...!st upde device OS was successy installed and then I tried to upde search and navigion upde...upde wad downloaded and while installion my phone got restarted and my bad luck ......It never happy to get switch on...after few tries once phone was switched on I immediely restored it to factory default settings.....again phone was not switching on....then I tried hard reset .....no success again.....On Monday I went to Nokia Care ...asked them to look wh is wrong with my phone...On Tuesday they called me and told me phone is OK just installed a new version of OS ANNA .....I received the phone and went back to home .......when I checked my phone it was switched off ......Tried to switch on thousand of times but no success...

On Thursday I sent my phone to Nokia Care again....and time they told me they don't know wh is the problem with device OS is not getting installed ...So we are sending the device replacement....

My question is any one of you faced problem ??

Wh do you think wh could be the problem ??? The new OS ANNA or something else?????

A long time ago my son gave me a present of an iphone 3G (or is it a 3GS can't tell) (model MB702LL) running on &T carrier. He was carrying the costs me as a family member on his plan!

I stopped upding its software 3.1.3 (7E18) because I had jailbroken it tethering th level and didn't want to mess with it after th. phone works well and tethering gre.

&T started messing around with billing and so my son is switching phones and carriers when his &T contract expires. The account I am enjoying is soon to be disconnected.

Wh can I do with it after th? Can I switch carriers with it? to Verizon or Sprint or ??

Is there a market an older phone like ? Not a thing wrong with it in any way.

Looking suggestions bee I lose connectivity soon! Thanks

Anyone had any experience with an ipad stylus? I'm not convinced I want one, but the idea of having a stylus and using it quick notes with one of the handwriting programs sounds like it would be a nice thing to have. You can't completely get away from jotting a quick note down on a note pad ( least I can't) and way I'd get everything centralized on the iPad.

So...anyone have any experience with a stylus?

Cracking deal if you ask me 2 cards th are still decent.

They are marked as clearance items. The store didn't have the 5850 in stock, so I can't tell you if it is the reference version or CuCore version. If it is the CuCore version, it is a steal IMO!

I use my landlord's wifi and she lives on the 3rd floor. She bought a wifi extender so I could get internet in my bedroom which is on the back of the house in my basement apartment.

I believe the model of the extender is NETGEAR WN2000RPT Universal WiFi Range Extender. It crees a new wifi signal with an _EXT extension to the original wifi signal th you connect to instead. my laptop is on it now and it's working perfectly well computers connecting to it.

However, while my iPhone 4 can see it, it usually cannot connect. The pinwheel spins in settings next to the wifi network's name after i put in the password, but the checkmark never appears. I've tried "get network > hard reset > reconnecting with no luck. Every once in a while, it WILL connect, and I'll see the wifi symbol in the menu bar of my home screen, but even then the signal is usually bogus (webs won't load and time out, etc, social networking apps/twitter time out when trying to refresh, etc).

Every once in a gre while, it will actually work and be lightning fast, but is the exception usually, it's no dice.

I've had the landlord reset the router in the past, after which it works perfectly well a day or so, but then the issue promptly returns.

Does anyone have any experience with ? Short of asking my landlord to reset the extender on a routine basis, is there anything I can do to resolve the issue? I'm wondering if there's anything in the manual or proxy settings I can put in th will ce it to remain connected? Some port th needs to be opened? I'm just not sure how/wh to investige.

I'm very frustred, and curious wh the issue is here. Any help would be very grely apprecied, thanks!

Now I have an old workhorse here, with the following config:
CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo E7400
Mobo: Intel DG43NB
RAM: 2GB 800Mhz DDR2 RAM
GPU: XFX Gece 9500 GT
HDD: 250 GB Hitachi

I wanna upgrade it gaming, but on a strict budget. I won't overclock, and won't multitask much. My main usage will be gaming. Now which CPU would be better the Intel Core i3 2100 or AMD Phenom II X4 945? Also please suggest a suitable mobo under Rs.4000. Also which graphics card would be better, Gece GTS 450 or Radeon 6750?

i have got a strange problem in my notebook. i had my display unit changed yesterday from hp service centre and found out one out of my 3 usb ports is not working in windows7. device manager shows all the usb controllers and hubs working properly. after i installed ubuntu 10.10 and the usb port started working fine in both the OS's. but now in ubuntu my wifi didnt work. it detects the connection but it does not connect even after providing the password. so i uninstalled ubuntu. now again in windows 7, the usb stopped working.
PLEASE HELP ME. I AM GOING MAD OVER IT....:x

Sorry if discussed bee, but I could not find it.
I'm running iTunes 10.3.1 on a Windows 7 Pro and have a IPAD2 4.3.3 (JB).
I mistakenly said yes when asked if it was okay to autostart iTunes when my IPAD was plugged into the USB port. Now I want it to stop.

1. On the summary tab options:
"Open iTunes when iPad is co..." is unchecked & greyed out

2. Edit/Preferences/Devices:
"Prevent Ipad from syncing automically" is checked

3. I would rher not set the "Apple Mobile Device" service to "Manual" because other programs besides iTunes use it.

It does not seem like should be so difficult, but it is.

Anyone have a cure?

Hello guys,

I am struggling with getting the 4.3.3 firmware, so I can get a untethered jailbreak.

I started trying downgrading from 4.3.5 to 4.3.3 but it was impossible eventhough I followed all sorts of guides on the web.

I then downgraded to 4.1 in the hopes of it being easier to upgrade to 4.3.3, but still can't get there.

I only have 4.3.5 and 4.1 SHSH blobs :(

Wh should I do?

First of all I'm kinda new here (I found um on google) and I barely know anything about PCs so may be a problem.

So I'm thinking of buying the Astro A40 Headset, but it to be y functional I'd need Dolby Live and Dolby Headphone. Can any1 tell me whether ALC892 supports it or not? And if not, wh should I do to make it work?
I've heard th if it doesn't support Dolby Headphone but it does support Dolby Live then the mixamp (which comes with the Astro A40, if you pay it of cse) can deal with th.

I'm hoping any of you can help me with , as I'd really like the headset.

Hy there, ive got an MSI GX700 Gamer Laptop. It a GF8600m GT card(MXMII). Now i will change the card into a Radeon 4650 mobile 1GB DDR2. The Card i bought came from a Acer Laptop.
After i installed the new card, ther was only a black screen, but windows is booting. A little help from google tells me, th graphiccards from acer are bioslocked, so i can only use card in an Acer Laptop.
Again i took google to solve the problem. I've found some s where you could flash an "free" Bios from another 4650m card onto locked card.

But my Problem is, i dont find any mobility BIOS Files. I'm only finding normal BIOS Files and dont know if they work proper (Ther are also here on techpowerup in the dabase).

Now my question.
anyone of you such a mobile radeon 4650 1GB DDR2 and could dump me the biosfile?? (Via GPUZ) or is it possible to use one normal from the dabase??

As the title says I want to have a 1 MBPS or higher speed broadband connection me Kolka. I want an unlimited connection without any FUP. Presently I am using BSNL UL750 plan and i get about 60 Kbps while downloading. But I wanted something faster.
Is there any such plans available here. Budget the above connection is about 1500.

Local cable wala is providing an unlimted connection of 1 MBPS 900, but one cannot share the connection between two or more computers. Please help in choosing an ISP and a good plan.

Anyone had any experience with an ipad stylus? I'm not convinced I want one, but the idea of having a stylus and using it quick notes with one of the handwriting programs sounds like it would be a nice thing to have. You can't completely get away from jotting a quick note down on a note pad ( least I can't) and way I'd get everything centralized on the iPad.

There was a um post a while back about research calling into question the man made influence on clime change. Lots of folk then started waving the old skeptic flag about global warming. Well, the editor th allowed th into his jnal now resigned over it. I read an about the 'paper' and it's author last night. Find it here:

Giving credence to 'controversial' new papers is damaging to th ultime quest. So please, bee all the malleable young minds start saying 'yeah, i knew th was crap', please question it's sce and it's objectivity.

Scientific revolutions do happen but normally when a new approach lets somebody test it the first time (when the theory starts to become fact). The vast majority of clime work points to a hotter planet with human industrial (and biological) influence being a factor. So when one or two studies pop up and say "no", ask yself why.

And finally, its so easy to be a skeptic because it takes away the guilt or responsibility. It must be even easier to be an evangelical scientific skeptic because 'god must will it'. In today's mainstream and empirically structured scientific community being a skeptic is ignorant but easy way out of responsibility.

Hi All,

Whilst on holiday I accidentally s on my phone and broke the screen. The lights come on and some vibrions are happening when i receive email and texts etc but the screen is black. There are faint cracks on the screen where I accidentally s on it.

I have lots of gre photos on the phone and cant remember whether its on the micro sd card or not.... I just ordered a reader to confirm . Whilst Im waiting, does anyone know if i can retreive all the media from the phone without having to press anything on the phone?

I have downloaded the media manager from samsung but cant seem to get it going.

Everytime i try to open OVI store on my X6 mobile it asks me to upde and then after download it tries to check online certifice and comes up with a failure. It says "Online Certifice Check Failed". It tries to install 1.12(5) version of OVI Store. I have tried to uninstall the OVI Store and try . But still doesn't help. Seems like i have to take it to the Nokia care to solve . I am using Nokia E63,,yesterday i backed up my phone contacts, calendars through Nokia PC suite to my laptop. Then i did a hard reset of my fone as it was running very sluggishly. Then i tried to restore the contacts and calendar through the Nokia PC suite. But the progress in the PC suite gets stucked 59% over 2 hrs and doesnt move beyond th. I tried many times.

Sometimes my SAMSUNG GALAXY SII, due to btery discharge, turns off. After getting turned off it dosen't gets restarted. Even if i plug in the charging cable it dosen't restart. i am still wondering if i should buy a used 150gb VelociRaptor or buy a new RE4 or Black disk or just go SSD but again SSD costs and lower than 64gb will be to small m i am using 42,7gb of a 138gb partition.

i want a drive th can run like 247 bcs i only reboot my pc like updes and th otherwise it's turned on 247 so wh will be the best choice bcs ino th Ada writes th there is 1 million hs MTBF on their drives, is th life of the SSD or? :confused:

yesterday bought Corsair XMS3 3x2GB 1333 MHZ CMX2GX3M1A1333C9

problem is th i cant get to work the whole set of 8 GB.

In every way bios detects only 6 GB.
I removed all rams..
and placed the 3x2GB [ 135 ] slots it boots up cool in tripple channel but after few mints.. it crashed with a BSOD .
also placed the 2x2GB [ 13 ] works like charm

I bought Reliance 3G modem few days back Which is actually the Huawei E173 hardwired.It works fine but the problem occurs during system boot up as my PC gets stuck when the modem is detected.As Obvious it detects HDD first then other connected peripherals, when it searches USB devices connected first it detects Huawei Mass Storage and then pauses the second USB Device which is infact the Huwaei SD Storage.The only solution I found is to remove the modem after which the Computer detects USB DEVICE #2 as Huawei SD Storage and successy boots up.
Now the problem is th I don't want to remove the modem each and every time, so someone please provide an alterne solution.

Right now I still have my stock HD from like, 5 or so years ago when I bought the rig. Since then I have pretty much built a new computer. Sound card, video, new/more ram, processor, case, mobo. The only thing I haven't touched really is the HD.

Right now I have a Hitachi.
7200 RPM
160GB in size
SA 3.0 GB/s

I am looking getting though... is it worth it?

Howdy all!

I am looking a mouse to replace my Microsoft Sidewinder as it is spazzing out (phantom right and left clicks everywhere, all the time:banghead:). I have gotten use to the rher massive size of the Sidewinder and would like something similarly sized. is the Sidewinder, or wh became the X8 (wired).
Thoughts?

My only criteria is th the mouse be big, reliable, have DPI switching, and least 2 extra buttons. Ideas?:confused:

Hey guys, my two 8gig flash drives seem to be very slow when I'm loading stuff on them. So say I'm dumping a 4gig movie on it to wch on my media player it takes quite a few minutes and seems to pause part way through. Sometimes they will pause "15 seconds remaining" a couple of minutes bee continuing. Any ideas? I do rem them often. Thanks!

Well, is a first me, but i'm hoping th someone can help me out, PLEASE. Somehow, i've corrupted my itunes music file (including my backups). Only my music albums are effected. Ringtones, apps, and photos are o.k. Now, everything on my iPhone is good, it's all there, but trying to cree a backup, does not bring back the lost music. How can i put all my music from the iPhone into iTunes? I'm thinking about deleting iTunes completely, but th would leave the new one blank. Any help would be apprecied.:(

I have a 2G Jailbroken Iphone. It was Jailbroken with Redsnow. Additionally, I have Cydia downloaded. The phone works gre but I'm not getting any sound when someone calls or sends a text; It only vibres. Additionally, when I try to tach speakers in order to play music from Itunes there is no sound. Although, I can hear music directly from the Iphone speakers. Any advice will be apprecied. Thanks in advance.

P.S. I also tempted inserting and removing the speaker plug into the speaker jack numerous times to see if th would make music play.

P.S.S. In summary, music does play directly from the Iphone but not from the jack; it does not make sound when someone calls or text but it does vibre and my alarm does make sound and vibre.

I have a budget of 20,000 max/ i was looking google nexus s but untunely it's out of stock in flip kart and letsbuy from last 15 days.
I did write a mail to flip kart and letsbuy but no info on when nexus s would be back in stock.

Coming from a SE phone sound quality is of real importance to me. I have a Brainwavz m2 earphones and i am looking something with really good sound quality .

Yes, may sound super nooby of me but I need some help with my new audio card.

Y probably thinking, just slap it into the mobo, plug in y audio cables and go! Not in case though. When I go to audio settings and "Test" the speakers I get sound out of all of them except the right and left speaker. I am using a set of Logitech x530's.

Now, if you can help me solve th problem then, gre! Onto the next!

Like I said I get sound out of all speakers except the left and right one which must mean th my connection is mostly correct? However when I play music via iTunes I get sound coming from all speakers (including the right speaker) except the left speaker. wtf? _

The fitment of the AXP140 was way better than I expected. It seems thermalright changed the design of the mounting bracket and now it can be installed within LianLiQ08. AND I can throw in a size graphic card as well!!!!

The mother board is good. Best MiniITX tout there th allows you to OC. is the cheapest Z68 ITX I found on newegg! I OCed the 2500K to 4GHz really easy. Again, thanks all those who helped me!

Every now and then when I push the home button to take the phone out of sleep mode nothing happens. I tried putting the charger on and could hear the sound it makes it begins charging. The only way I can get the phone to work is remove and put the btery back in. I have the lest firmware Australia. Thanks any help

So is my first post. I hope its not a waste of time but I think card may be dead.

is a reference 5850 th I plan on using bitcoin mining. I recieved it from another person who could not fix it.

So far I have used iflash on it and reflashed the stock BIOS just to be sure. iflash sees it and works with it ok.

I have tried booting up in Windows 7 64bit and Ubuntu 11.04 64bit. Nether OS appears to see the card.

So my question is: if iflash can see the card and work with it then whs the problem? Is there anybody around who understands wh part of the booting process is getting screwed up?

BTW the card no shroud and I'm ghetto cooling it with a fan or two. Also it BSODed Windows bee. Totally preventing it from starting up. Then on the next boot it starts up ok but the he sink stays cool, indicing the chip is not powered. Weird hu?

I used to use two Samsung Spinpoint 500Gb HDDs in RAID 0 on my MSI 790FXGD70 motherboard.

I'm parting and selling my computer, and was wondering if I were to sell both my HDDs to a guy, can he easily recover my da (I haven't mted the disks)?

I don't have anything sensitive on my HDDs and I'm not worried th he'll use some complex programs to extract my da. I just don't want him to plug it in and see all my da.

As far as I know, the RAID array I was using cannot be recreed on another controller without mting the disks, but I might be wrong.

Hello ! first post here ^^

I bought today a 6950 hd 1ghz (gygabite), and my computer won't boot with it.
I bought along with it a Corsair CX600, motherboard is Asus P7P55M.
Both 75 (6 pin) PSU are plugged in the (only) PCIE 16x slot of the board.
When eveything is plugged and I try to boot, I can feel the CPU fan doesnt spin fast enough, and nothing boots. It gets power but then nothing happens, not even the first Beep.

So I stripped the computer naked of all peripherals, including HDD's, i mean i unplugged everything, its just the power supply into the MB, the 4 pin X, the card and both its PSU.

Doesnt boot. If I put my old gce 8600 instead (with the new corsair supply) , it boots to windows, no worries.

So tell me ... hardware failure ? MB incompibility ?
Can't figure th one out....

We've run into a dead end.

there is no video showing, and I notice th only two out of the three green LED's on the video card are ON.

since the third LED is not on, does th mean card is defective?

Is there a solution to fixing ? there is no video on boot.
