But pointing to further evidence th iPhone 5 production is now in swing, shipping times newly placed iPhone 4 orders have begun to lengthen substantially.

Inventory of the iPhone 4 begun dwindling to such an extent th it may now take upwards of three days new orders to ship. As recent as last week, orders both the Verizon and &T iPhone 4 models were shipping within 24 hs. As

Suggest some good quality 2.1 speakers my Panasonic viera 32" LCD TV. as inbuilt LCD speakers have poor quality sound output. Speakers must have RCA input coz i'm going to tach those directly to set top box.

Dont want 5.1 home there as it is already tached to My DVD.

I ran a chk disk the morning, its ran through and rebooted was going normal shown windows splash screen then right back too chk disk again i press any key to skip chk disk and it then reboots....same process...tried F8 doesn't boot, tried last known config doesn't boot,untunely i don't have a cd to boot from. I really don't know wh to do and need inmion from drive. currently I'm running a startup repair. If doesn't work wh ells could i try?? it shows the windows splash screen then goes right to a chk disk i have ran it twice already. why wont it just boot:banghead:

Hopey somebody actually reads post, is not being an idiot and will not lock thread.

Only two Pire games I know of are Pires of the Caribbean: The Legend of Jack Sparrow and Sid Meier's PIRES. Oh and the Monkey Island series of cse! Are there any others which allow the player to sail the seven seas and have y own crew? Even some point and click or DOS titles would be welcome.

Hello guys,

I have narrowed down my choice of a laptop to these:

a) HP Pavilion G6 Series G61000TU (Flipkart.com: HP Pavilion G6 Series G61000TU: Computer)

b) Sony VAIO E Series VPCEH15EN (Flipkart.com: Sony VAIO E Series VPCEH15EN: Computer)

I have heard HP Pavilion dv series had bad heing problems. I do not know if the new G series are good or they suffer the same.

Still some say th sony better quality products.

I really want to hear feedback about the HP G series bee buying. I also want good customer support after I buy the product. HP says it on warranty. Wh have y experiences?

I would not mind paying a little extra the same configurion Dell. I have using Dell 4 years now and its come clean.......no problems all.

My ipad 1 is acting crazy. Whenever I get on an app., it shuts down and returns to the home page of the particular app I clicked on. It doesn't mter if the app is internet based or not.

I am upto buying a new phone.My budget is within 8000.suggest me a
good phone.i somewh chose nokia c503.
but I am confused after seeing some of the reviews th phone
got.I cant decide whether to go a android
phone or should i continue trusting nokia.actually nokia did not yet
come up with an android phone within 8000 but samsung
.but i cannot rely on samsung because its btery feedback and
hardware is not th good as nokia.on the otherhand
samsung is better when software is concerned.
I want a good phone which would last long whch should be hardy enough

Should I get another 5850 if I can obtain it 100 USD? Currently, I'm happy with my current system as I can play most games fine 1920x1080 resolution, but a hundred fl a 5850 is extremely tempting. Also, I'm still using an old 775 socket, so I'm not really sure if I can benefit much from upgrade. Should I get the 5850 now and upgrade my other components ler (mobo, cpu, etc), or should I upgrade my current components and get a GPU ler?

thread is all things WSUS (Windows Server Upde Services). Discussion, installion questions, problems all go here.

Wh is WSUS? It's basically a big file cache all y Windows/Microsoft updes, so all y updes are only ever downloaded over the internet once. Instead of getting y updes directly from Microsoft whenever you reinstall y opering system, you point Windows to y local WSUS server instead. makes downloading the multigigabytes of updes way faster using y internal network and also saves y internet bandwidth, which is often metered and limited.

Note th it requires Windows Server to run. I recommend running the lest Server 2008 R2 permance, stability and security, if you can. is a 64bit only OS. And yes, the server can upde from it's own WSUS server too. :cool:

I've got links to a few resces below and I'll be adding more goodness to post and the next one, as people make useful contributions to thread.

POINTING WINDOWS TO THE WSUS SERVER

Note th procedure is all you have to do on Vista and 7. XP requires a little extra and the whole upde process isn't as transparent or efficient.

Click the Orb the bottom left of the desktop aka 'Start' button
In the search field enter GPEDIT.MSC
In the Local Group Policy Editor (LGPE) console th appears, navige to: Computer configurion > Administrive Temples > Windows Components > Windows Upde
Double click the Specify Intranet Microsoft upde service locion Group Policy setting. Note th Not Configured is showing in the Ste column




The dialog box opens. Note th the Not Configured radio button is selected




Enter the server details, by clicking the Enabled radio button and entering the same details in both Options fields. The server's name is the standard Windows name. My server is called afterburner :)




Click OK. The main LGPE window now looks like below. Note th Enabled is now showing in the Ste column.



Close the LGPE window

Open the Windows Upde window. It should now show You receive updes: Managed by y system administror



Now, whenever you check updes, Windows will access y WSUS server instead of looking over the internet to Microsoft's servers.
If you want to change it back an time, simply change the Group Policy setting back to Not Configured.

[Tech] Sabertooth x58 and 24GB RAM, clarificions?

hello, long time sine I've here,
so I started my build a year ago with 6GB (3x 2GB) of OCZ Gold triple channel (which I only got dirt cheap to test the system with wer cooling a while in case of a leak, did the same thing with an old graphics card).
I then quickly went to 12GB of Priot GSeries (3x 4GB, which worked perfectly), and now I just bought a 24GB kit of Priot Viper II Sector 7 DDR31333 RAM (PV7324G1333ELHK) and installed it last night,
however I am only seeing 8GB of RAM in the BIOS and in Windows.
I set the recommended XMP profile, and also tried to set the recommended timings manually (99924, DRAM Bus @ 1.65V), and after not getting th to work I tried to manually set the timings etc without using XMP. Th didn't do anything.
I upgraded the version of the BIOS to the lest (v1201 IIRC)
The memory is opering now, and since my computer runs a game server and a lot of number crunching (they still have plenty of RAM, now) I can't really leave it off or have it down too long if I can avoid it.

I have read th some RAM issues can be caused by the CPU or the he sink not being seed properly, however all of those appear to have an entire channel dead, whereas I've run triplechannel just fine bee (and those issues never had a 24GB kit th I could find, just 12GB max so not all six slots).

I have seen success with the 1600 version of RAM (which is supposed to be the unsupported version of it as the sabertooth was listed with a max RAM speed of 1333 >12GB). However, I never found anyone using the 1333 with 24GB and motherboard.

Funny thing, I was going to purce the 1600 version as with the rebe Fry's when I went it made the price $80, but the local stores were out and was all they had below $200 otherwise. Since it was the same RAM but, but 1333 instead of 1600 I thought it wouldn't be an issue.

I can still return and try again, but none of the modules seem to be dead (which I will double check again first).

Any advice?

I could return and order a G.Skill kit which seems to be more common the sabertooth, but I was hoping to get done rher soon so I can get my system running better with the addition of the game server I made recently, as I also play the game on the same server.

P.S: 24GB may seem like overkill, but I do a lot of Uncompressed Audio recording and editing out of RAM, I work with High Speed Video footage, I run a DaRAM RAMDisk cache and a virtual machine (which I put in ram not only speed but when doing security stuff, as I can set it to not backup the RAMDisk and it's gone ever)

[Tech] Favorites From Firefox/IE?

I'm running into a little issue where a certain web I need to access doesn't load correctly with Firefox, and another web I need doesn't load correctly with Internet Explorer 9. Wh I'd like to do is just use Firefox a majority of the time, and I wanted to leave bookmark/shortcuts on the desktop th would open the pages th don't load correctly in Firefox with Internet Explorer. The problem I'm running into though is I don't know how to leave a bookmark on the desktop and have IE open it instead of Firefox. I want Firefox to be the default, except these two webs.

Th page loads, but when you enter a solicition number under the Bid Tabulion section and hit Enter it just loads a blank page. If you'd like to test it yself, use "1212570D". used to work fine prior to the release of Firefox 4. Once th came out it stopped working, and I don't have any addons like NoScript causing problems.

Any suggestions on leaving an Internet Explorer bookmark on the desktop th opens the page with IE instead of FF?

I have a weird problem after I upded symbian anna in my N8. I cannot make or receive calls from my car bluetooth. It shows it is paired with car and when a call comes I only hear beeps on my car speaker instead of the ring. I cannot receive the call or cut it from my car. The call gets missed. Not sure just wh beta came in with, but have just tested myself, and it works gre...!

When I mirror my display to my apple tv, and the play a keynote presention, it will screen display the slides on the tv, and gives you the option to have the next slide, or slide notes displayed just on the iPad!

Just looking a driver my new MSI 6850 cyclone PE card on my windows xp 32 bit. My OS was unstable with freezes when I installed the drivers of mobo & GPU from the driver CD's th came along.

So, reinstalled the OS 4th time in a row & planned on individually installing the drivers by downloading from the manufacturer's web.
So far system stable with all drivers installed except the GPU. I'm guessing is wh caused the freezes earlier.

Well I don't get to post here to often, basically I am just too damn busy all the time. But I did manage to get a new rig built over the last few weeks and thought I should put a couple of pics up...

I started off with a Lian Li PC71 I bought of ebay $80. The guy said it had installed in his business about 5yrs ago and it never moved, I was pretty stoked when it arrived as it was in gre condition. Excuse the first pics as I got to take any bee I started and had to copy/paste off ebay :laugh: :





I wanted to keep the prices down so I managed to get a lot of it second hand, some from my fellow TPUers and some from ebay.

Here is the list of hardware I bought it:

Gigabyte 990fxUD5
1090T CPU Got off eBay $45 with a broken pin. Will show you pix ler on.
4gb Crucial 1333mhz 6,6,6,18. Temporary ram out of my HTPC until my new ram arrives, ctesy of Tig :toast:
2 x ASUS HD5870 1gb reference design video cards. Got these $120 each. :rockout:
3 x 160gb Raptors in RAID 0. Got these $20 each.
Thermaltake 700wt TR2 power supply (Its the only decent PSU I could get locally and needed on ASAP)

I want to be a pure gaming machine so will only be turned on when gaming, I also wanted it to be y wer cooled as I had never done th bee. is wh I decided on:

XSPC RASA RS240 kit
Swiftech 480mm rad
2 x Swiftech MCW80 GPU blocks
White XSPC hosing
Bitspower fittings
Bitspower 480mm Radior Grill

I think the cooling cost more than the hardware inside.:p Wer cooling gear is expensive downunder!!

First thing I did was completely strip the case painting, I really love Lian Li cases as they are easy to dismantle and very well made.







I marked out holes in the motherboard tray the various cables:
  • 8 pin CPU
  • Main X
  • Front buttons
  • Sa cables
  • GFX pwr cables
  • USB cables
  • Audio cables

Then drilled out the motherboard tray to make it easier to cut:

Hello all,


problem is discussed in many ums and in many threads in um. But I have a very different situion. I purced a iphone 4 locked to &T. I unlocked it using gevey sim and then jailbreak it using jailbreakme.com. It was running 4.3.3 and BB 04.10.01.

After all I tried to call someone and found out th ear piece is not working. I searched it on different ums and some people suggested th a clean restore can fix . So I upded my phone to 4.3.5. and to bypass the activion screen, i again jailbreak it using redsnow, though its tethered. unlock works perfect even better than 4.3.3, jailbreak, installous, cydia everything is working fine but still ear piece is not working.

I checked it using voice memo, recorded some voice played it on speaker, I hear the voice but when I tap the speaker button to direct it to another speaker, nothing happens, i mean i cant hear anything.

I checked ear phone port any dirt, inserted and pulled out the ear phone's pin a few times, applied every proposed solution available on web but in vain.

I have also read somewhere th ear piece stops working after jail breaking. any incident happened like bee? But I can't bypass activion screen without jail breaking.

Any body please suggest something. Or Do i need to replace the ear peice?

Well ill joined um to tell you ..

I was removing the gpu cooler from the card, asus 6950 DCII 1Gb.
I realized it 2Gb of memory.
The memory was just disabled in bios.
I flashed my asus 6970 DCII 2Gb bios to it, and it runs fine. And have 2Gb memory in use now.

I went over to my neighbors to work on his moms comptuer because Norton was messing up something or other. So i also looked his old one th he claims Staples blew his motherboard up. he says it powers on then instantly powers off i guess. Im thinking its more towards a PSU issue. Since its a LGA775 system with a micro x board i think it would be easier to just replace the PSU if all possible, since LGA775 boards are hard to find now a decent price. Does sound like a PSU issue. it a generic Cooler Master PSU.

I need a code in vba which would read a file name in a specified folder (dynamic ph). the file name changes every time and there can be more than one files and the code should pick them all. My problem is I have UDK July 2011 Version installed. It installed properly and works but is very very slow not only UDK but also my entire system becomes slow once I start UDK. Wh could be the reason? Is it because of my graphics card which is very basic one?

The GTX 590 was released in March (TPU review) yet, it's still hardly available in the UK.

I've looking various PC tech retailers (Novech, Scan etc) and they either don't have it listed all, or just one or two models, which are invariably out of stock.

I can understand paper launches and poor availability launch, but almost 6 months ler? Wh's going on?

BTW I'm not looking to buy one, just curious.

Okay folks, I have had much of a system change since lightning took out my AMD box.

My new system is in my sig and I have had it about 4 months now

I have 3 USB Enclosures. A Hornettek JAWS and a Hornettek Viper, USB 3.0 Editions. I also have a Kingwin USB 3.0 edition.

When using the drives with particular motherboard, I get some weird behavior from the Hornetteks. Randomly when the system is opering, the drives will disconnect from the system and shutdown power to themselves. To get the drives back, I have to disconnect power..... wait 10 secs.... plug them back in. I have ensured all power management is disabled. It does not mter if the drives are idle or being used. I have upded my BIOS and drivers to the lest versions. I am not overclocking anything.

I contacted Hornettek and RMA'd both boxes. They sent me two new ones and the issue still occurs. The Kingwin box is fine. Does not mter if I am using USB 3.0 or 2.0 ports. Keyboard and mouse, along with all other USB devices is fine.

Contacting MSI resulted in my sending my motherboard in RMA. I really really REALLY do not want to tear out wercooling. Any thoughts??? Suggestions??

I am ruling out my PSU... I mean 1250W.... should be plenty 6 USB devices...

I have upded the BIOS and all Drivers.

Hey guys, I'm kinda new to the whole building a computer thing but I recently finished mine with another guy and I'm having trouble displaying anything on my monitor. I know it's not a problem with the monitor because it doesn't work on my friend's either. I'm using a Radeon HD 6850 graphics card on an ASUS M5A97 motherboard and I believe it's installed correctly. Just wondering if there's any issues with the compibility of the two or if you guys have any advice or tips. Thanks :)

I have a broken quadro fx4500 x2 th was given to me. When fired up it did not display anything on the screen. I removed the upper portion of the card and i got it to display in both windows and ubuntu. Here is the problem: I cannot get the driver to load properly under windows (under ubuntu apps freezes whenever they try to use it) and of cse the firmware still thinks it is an x2. I was thinking th if I could upde the firmware to th of a fx4500 (x1), it may work. Untunely I am not sure how I would go about endeavor.

is just a follow up thread from my previous one, about $1500+ wasted...

PC is working SO GOOD NOW!

Guess wh? It wasn't the RAM! or the Mobo, or CPU, or PSU!

All it needed was a fresh REINSTALL of Windows 7!

So those of you who were involved with my troublesome endeavors, thread is just to let you know the conclusion to all of .

EDIT:

Only thing is my RAM still reads 1333Mhz, instead of 1600Mhz.

I don't know how to change it yet with board.

Problem: Transfer speed is very slow (Connected USB Powered Seage 500Gb HDD)

[Tech] Error modem accessing

I am browsing the internet then it get lag. I intended to reset the computer and accessed the modem address (Billion 5100). However, it didn't display the login box but an htm page with like :

Just need some clarificion... Right now, i'm running JB 4.3.3, and using ToneFx Pro the various phone sounds( Lock, unlock, text, etc ). I'm under the impression th ToneFx will be rendered obsolete, wh i use it , when IOS5 becomes available. If i jump the gun and download 4.3.5, i will not be able to use ToneFx all, and will only be able to change the sounds ringtone and text ( unless an untethered JB becomes available ). If i'm correct, could someone with more knowledge than me, please confirm . Thanks.:confused:

First, thanks to the board hosts and the helpful people on um. gre to me over the years.

I did buy board here and it's used with a 920 chip it's the evga 759 classy model. Most specs in sys specs on the right are accure. I've got access to the corsair 6x1 and the budget avenix 3x2 ram.

Ok, if you google FF error there are plenty of hits board. I just thought I'd hit the pro's here up.

So far the led readout simply reads ff. Cpu fans, gpu fans spinning. No signal to monitor. I've tried different ram, I've connected and disconnected the 24 pin, the 8 pin and video card connectors multiple times.

I've tried both of the 8 pin slots motherboard power, the manual says either one will work and two are not required.

I've tempted to boot with one stick of ram in multiple slots, then 3 gig in multiple slots.

I've run a check on the psu with a tester, it's within working parameters.

Next step is to pull the motherboard and rese the chip and check bent pins.

Anyone else got an idea on a troubleshooting steps or tips to recommend?

Hey all. My rig currently 6 gigs of RAM. I am really not looking to add more RAM in terms of quantity because as is, the most I use like 3 gigs, if th. So my question is, should I upgrade wh I have?

DDR2 mind you...

Currently:
G.SKILL 2GB (2 x 1GB) DDR2 800 (G.SKILL 2GB (2 x 1GB) 240Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 ...)
2 gigs of stock RAM (the ram th came with the computer 5 years ago ~2 gigs~2 sticks, 1 gig/per, not exactly sure of the speed but guessing 533)

Now obviously the one I would think about upgrading would be the stock RAM. Thought about replacing it with the following...
G.SKILL 2GB (2 x 1GB) 240Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 1066...

Hello, ever since I got my new PC i've had to manually adjust my 6870's fan speed otherwise, it just won't cool itself down.The automic system simply doesn't work. Sometimes I get to do it and it hits 7080 degrees celcius. Is there some sort of fix ?

It seems th the 7xxx radeon series will support PCIE 3.0, but the bulldozer wont. Wh will mean a build based on these two products? Will the GPU be limited, or will the CPU be compible through the motherboard?

Intending to go AMD/I build, unless they disappoint alot
